Custom Creator Tools (CCT) and Data Editor Help

Recommended Posts

Hello!

For the life of me, I cannot get CCT to function. It's bad enough that due to my screen resolution, I cannot run Data Editor (if there's a fix you know for this, I'd love to hear it!)

CCT does not recognize my game as running>Main menu even though it most certainly is.

I would really love to uninstall the countless faulty mods I have put on my game without wiping the slate clean and starting again. But I can't get this darn thing to recognize my game!

It's probably some little step I'm missing but any help someone could provide would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!

If CCT doesn't recognize your game as running that could have two possible reasons:

1. You use a pirated version

2. You don't have the latest update

CCT reads from memory to make sure the game is running and that you are using the latest version.

Judging by your screenshot, the problem isn't with your resolution, it's due to the buggy nature of Windows font scaling that simply ignores when a program tells it that it isn't scalable and not to scale it, which is generally the case with Java programs among others.
Disable scaling (doing this varies from Windows version to Windows version, on Windows 10, right click on your desktop->Display Settings->Change the size of text, apps and other items: 100%) log out of your windows account and back in and it should work properly (although your fonts, icons, etc. will be normal resolution then). You can switch scaling back on once you're done Data Editing.

In addition to these, you might also not have the game path set correctly in Custom Character Tools 2017 (that can happen if you have uncleanly moved your game to a different location after installing it, etc.). Check in CCT if Settings->Settings->Game directory is pointing to the proper installation path of your game.

Thanks very much @TheVisitorX @Cave Waverider

Although I have absolutely no moral/ethical qualm with pirating, my version is bought and paid for (deluxe version to boot!)

It was the update!! I wrongly assumed I had been using the most up to date version. Rookie mistake. I will also ensure the path is correct on my next go around.

Again, thanks so much for your help!
