Wizard3 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I know alot of hair issues are going on with importing a 2k16 hair to 2k17. Does anyone have a way around this? Here is what i have, I want to redo my Kevin Nash from 2k16 using the 2k17 model of Diesel because they removed the stupid belt they had in 2k16. I also want to have the ponytail of Nashs off 2k16 on the 2k17 Diesel. When i put the yobj in it freezes the game. Any of the more smarter modders;) out there who can give me some advice on how to make this work? Or is it not possible? Thanks guys Quote

Could you please clarify that you are wanting to update your 2K16 mod to work on 2K17 or make a variation of your 2K16 Nash using 2K17 parts to use on 2K16? If you are wanting to do the former and make your Nash mod work on 2K17 I am willing to help and just require your original mod files and what you need doing. No promises but I will try my best. No promises but I will try my best. hey perfect i am wanting to make both work 2k16 and 2k17 with the new 2k17 Diesel model, want to get them both to work on both games. when i inject the 2k16 Nash ponytail in the 2k17 model it crashes the 2k16 game. alot of my attires use this ponytail. im just gonna use 2k17 jacket its a better jacket lol i think i need 2 splice pieces of the 2k16 2580 into the 2580 of 2k17 model for the ponytail in hex but im not good at this at all. btw if you go 2 my 2k16 thread you can download the pack with the hair files in it and try to get it to work with the 2k17 model i send you the download password. the reason again i want to use 2k17 model for both games is they got rid of that stupid belt on Diesels model hope that helped explain what im attempting to do. tomwearsglasses Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) I spent the last week dealing with a very similar issue with the Ultimate Warrior and I just got it working now. Basically, what I had to do was use the 2k16 pac, remove all the hair files, then add in the 2k17 hair files (even if they're different), then zlib compress everything in the pac. As far as I can tell, these are the possible hair related files: 2580 Hair Physics/Animation 2715 Hair Object 2922 Hair Object (Alternate/Additional) ____________________________________ So what I would suggest trying is: - Start with the 2k16 pac and extract it all. - Then extract everything from the 2k17 pac. - See which hair files they do/don't have. - Delete the hair files from the 2k16 extracted folder. - Put in the hair files from the 2k17 one. - Build a new pach file (I do that in Xpacker). - Now, using PAC Editor, extract all of the contents in that new pach file. - Look for anything that doesn't list as a zlib file, and reinject it as a zlib (this doesn't seem to work right with Xpacker). ____________________________________ When I went through this same process with the Warrior, I was able to get him to run in both games. I have had pretty good success converting 2K15 and 16 hair in the last couple of days between jobs, once I've narrowed down ones I can't fix I will provide a simple step by step tutorial on how to fix older mods for conversion to 2k17. 3 Quote

That's the biggest thing killing me right now, especially when I want to stream or YouTube some highlights. I have about 6 or 7 modded wrestlers whose hair is stretched and stuck on the ropes during replays. Quote

I recall reading RVD's hair was proving a problem on replays am I right? Can't promise it will fix that but I will try my best. Quote

I think the reason for this is that the highlight is using a set of positions and rotations recorded into memory and it would seem that the hair guiders aren't being recorded into memory. For now I will be focusing on seeing if I can fix as many hair files as I can from 2k15 and 16 to carry them across to 2k17 and if I find a fix for the replay/highlight I will of course try to fix that, I want to be sure about things before I throw together a step by step tutorial. 1 Quote

Perfectplex Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 No because it turned out there are more issues than I can list when it comes to conversion, if its a 2K15 model (some 2K16 use the 2K15 models) then its impossible and you have to replace the hair. Just use file 2715 (model) and 2580 (physics) of 2K17 (and some 2K16) pach files in order to use their hair and remove broken files 2715, 2580 and 2922 (other hair file) first. There are other things to try and some work arounds but they are so convoluted and will just result in a barrage of confusion and posts from people trying to fix hair when they haven't even learnt how to change a pach ID or other simpler level modding and I just don't have time for that. Follow the steps in blue, and experiment and you should be off to a good start. Another file to check is file 00E6 (facial hair) which can cause crashes, some older files need an extra "00 00 00 00" inserted to correct an offset issue to be compatible with 2K17. 1 Quote

I will be doing that. I was hoping to replace some hairs due to the lost of motion on mods from 2K16 to 2K17, so I will be fine wil replacing with something similar even if its from the same game.
