This is the first creation I've ever set about making, first time I've even used Photoshop, but I think I'm getting there slowly. Any advice or feedback would be really appreciated, i'ts the only way I'll learn. 

 

 

The skin tone is far too red for my liking, I need to work out how to lighten the skin tone in the original image.

if you mean in the texture itself, try to decrease the color intensity of the texture. (Don't know where I don't have photoshop)
