I sorta got him working now, just started with a fresh 0000.YOBJ this time and it fixed it. Having problems with the hair though so I think I'm gonna have to start from scratch there with some 2K17 hair.
4 Life Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) So here's a little preview of Meng (made last year but fixing up the hair as it didn't work properly this year), still not happy with the hair and I might end up trying someone else's, but anyways it's working and I fixed the crashing problems: Edited May 2, 2017 by 4 Life 5
Davehinnegan1986 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Sweet I was hoping you would redo this mod. I think Typhoons hair looks kind of like the way he wore it in WCW.

Funnily enough, that's Typhoon's hair on him now I'm not happy with the top part though, maybe changing the textures to someone elses might help it look a bit better though. Maybe.
J N Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Meng looks phenomenal. Alt gold or red attire would be sweet too! Your project of remaking Nitro-era WCW is something i've taken up myself. Not possible without your awesome mods man, so thanks for all you do. 1
4 Life Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 (edited) LEX LUGER WOLFPAC ATTIRE PREVIEWS!! Nobody's taken this on for one very simple reason - you can't add clothing objects to Luger's model! Ever since 2K15 and up to now, if you add tops, bottoms or tights to his model they glitch out like hell. I've tried all sorts, as have many others, but to no avail. This has taken me a hell of a lot of work so far, because I've actually sat and textured his clothes on Obviously messed around with the normals and alphas to make them look as much like clothing as I could, rather than having them look painted onto his skin. The attire isn't 100% accurate as a result of this, but I'm pretty happy with what I have so far! His top is textured on which took a LOT of trial and error, and I also reshaped his trunks and legs to look like some bottoms instead and then retextured them as jeans. NOTE: I haven't done the hair yet, he will have a ponytail! (EDIT - scroll down the page for ponytail previews!) I've spent all afternoon just doing the clothing so far, gonna mess around with the hair this week but I'm done for the day and figured I'd show the work I've done on the attire so far. As usual, click the images for enlarged versions! Edited May 4, 2017 by 4 Life 11
ObsoleteRipZz Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 If you get the Ponytail to look right can I use it? That's the one thing I need lol

4 Life Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 Ponytail added to Wolfpac Luger!! The animation wasn't really going well for me so I decided to not animate the ponytail, it's very short anyways and Lex always greased his hair so it didn't move much anyways! 6

What was that about Greg Valentine? I'm confused Next nWo member... dunno yet tbh. Still mostly working on porting my other mods and renders over ATM! 1

4 Life Posted May 5, 2017 Author Posted May 5, 2017 LEX LUGER WOLFPAC ATTIRE Just to recap (i.e. copy-paste details written in previous posts lol)... Nobody's taken this on for one very simple reason - you can't add clothing objects to Luger's model! Ever since 2K15 and up to now, if you add tops, bottoms or tights to his model they glitch out like hell. I've tried all sorts, as have many others, but to no avail. His top is textured on which took a LOT of trial and error, and I also reshaped his trunks and legs to look like some bottoms instead and then retextured them as jeans. This will be released as an alt attire for Lex by default, but I've also included renders and a titantron and minitron for those wanting to do a replacement elsewhere. 3
BeleeDat Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) Maybe a blessing in disguise, took a lot of ingenuity on your part to find workarounds and yet it still looks fantastic! Edited May 5, 2017 by BeleeDat 1

4 Life Posted May 21, 2017 Author Posted May 21, 2017 I'm seriously considering closing the curtain on this project, folks. Honestly, over the past 3-4 months I've lost a lot of enthusiasm for this project. Reasons why... Firstly, it's taking a lot longer than I anticipated. I'm not even close to being halfway done with this and I can't see myself even wanting to do it anymore by the time I've even reached the halfway mark. None of this is being helped by the fact that a lot of the mods are impractical atm due to size restrictions on the PACH files and the fact that I can't seem to get last gen objects working no matter what I try. There are also a lack of people working on mods from this era and as I said, I don't think the desire to finish the majority of the mods myself is going to be there for very long as it's continually lacking more and more. Secondly, there don't seem to be a whole lot of people interested in the project. I mean, I'm not here to whore likes or to mod just for other people as this started out as a personal project in which I shared all my own work with the public, but it's just the lack of interest in the majority of my individual mods compared to what I see in a lot of other threads makes it obvious that, in comparison, not many people are interested - it's totally understandable since a lot of the guys I'm doing are mid-carders to fill out my roster and stuff, but like I said, I'm just losing the enthusiasm for the whole thing and due to the lack of interest I don't see much reason to keep continuing it. Actually, I've always had the thought in the back of my mind that maybe I should have taken on another project like a Ruthless Aggression era mod as I also loved that era, and seeing the thread @Auday Elyafe made in which he's basically going to be doing the same thing, a lot of replies saying they'd chip in with some mods, plus the abundance of RA era attires we have on the forum already, makes me feel like my efforts would be better spent on this era instead. When I think about it, my enthusiasm levels for embarking on this sort of project are much higher than my current project, so I'm heavily considering cracking on with an RA roster mod instead. This decision isn't set in stone yet and I'm gonna have to think it over as if I decide to go ahead then I'm basically gonna have to wipe out all my mods and start over. Seriously thinking about it though, and if I do decide to do it then I'd like to thank everyone that was interested in this project for their continued support and apologise for cutting it short. 6
DFM85 Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 honestly, I love your Job and I loved the era that you choose. I grow up with the monday night war and is sad to see that you want to close the project but I respect your decision. Is it a hard work and take to much time 1
Perfectplex Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 (edited) I think the issue is that with an overhaul project it puts people in a mindset that they are confining their game world to a set identity, of course they could expand upon the mod to make it more than just a WCW world but this means more work on their behalf. If you are put off by a complete overhaul mod then I say you should think about making collections of mods you want to do which you could treat like DLC patches. A selection of WCW Wrestlers from a certain year or event with a couple of rings, a Ruthless Aggression era PPV event with certain costumes and the ring from that event, etc. This way you can concentrate on smaller packs and stay focused without losing interest or overworking yourself and it will catch the eye of people as it doesn't seem so imposing to use unlike a complete overhaul of the game. I think everybody will sympathise with you on the size limit of the ch files, why they added a size limit is beyond me, it is annoying and clearly put into place to add further obstacles to prevent modding. I have desperately tried to find all the offsets in yobj files to be able to remove whole objects from a yobj completely this way it allows for smaller yobj files using only the parts you wish to be visible but there are so many offsets to calculate that it is a headache and a half but something I do keep returning to especially now the size limit is in place. Anyway so if you break your mod into chunks this relieves the pressure on you and in the end you will have a collection of 'dlc' style packs that people can choose to combine if they wish to make a complete overhaul or indeed mix and match them and use only parts they want to use to have a mixed universe spanning different decades/brands. Keep up the good work mate, you're a great modder doing great work, just do things you are comfortable with and I'm sure you will have a lot more fun because you can then bounce around from theme to theme when it takes your fancy. If I ever do accomplish removing parts from yobj files I will happily share the method openly for folks to make tools to do the job, as I say I know how to do it but doing the math on all of the offsets is just a nightmare as there are just so many of them and one wrong or missed byte and it breaks the file. Chin up lad, take a break and work on something else for a bit and consider the small collections idea to save yourself the stress. Edited May 21, 2017 by Perfectplex 5
TheBleedingRed21 Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 (edited) As someone who worked on the big arena mod back in 2K15, trust me, when you start to get burnt out on the project and lose interest, it's time to move on in my opinion. I kept going in mine and it's why I haven't modded since. Modding is fun and shouldn't be a chore. I don't frequent here too much anymore but I browse the mods occasionally. I love your work and I think smaller projects from this era would be better for you. We had two people working on the arena mod in 2K15 and it was still a ton of work, can't even imagine this mod by yourself man. On a side note, I'm currently on 2k16 or I would possibly collaborate with you and get back at modding, I loved this era more than any. Edited May 21, 2017 by TheBleedingRed21 1
