Universe Tips - How to get the most out of it?

Hi guys,

Literally nothing happened in my universe. No run-ins, no cut scenes, nothing at all. I recently reset it and went through all the superstars setting up their allies and rivals in the hope it would kick-start something interesting.

Does anyone have any tips to get the most out of this mode? I remember 2k14 having a really string Universe mode.

I'll update this first post with top tips to help others like myself who crave some interaction.

It's probably not what you're looking for, but I could explain what I do so that more superstars are used. First I divide everyone up into categories so I know which championships they'll be competing for:

• Main Event
• Both
• Mid Card
• Tag
• Women

I draft by category one at a time, and the number of shows depends on how many I want in a show/total superstars. I'll run 5 shows this year since we have so many people. The most people you would need for a match would be 6, but injuries can occur so I use 7 people for each title. If 2 are injured, than I can push a midcarder, or elevate a midcard title using a main eventer. And so Tags aren't stale, I'll have 4 teams per roster. That's 21-29 per show.

Yep. You have to individually go to each person, but you can edit which championships they can. I think it's L3 or R3 on the PS4.

more than that.  Edit the Personality traits of each, it's best if you plan a world title rivalry to put the title chaser in the number 6 rank (i know it sounds crazy) when i did that in my Rollins/Finn feud (post summerslam 16) i had finn in a match against Sami Zayn, and He was celebrating with the Universal title, and Seth attacked him from behind and hit him with the title.

 

Another tip: if you are using a custom championship, and it is an in game model, make sure you use the default attire (or create a clone of that person, moves stats entrance etc) otherwise they will be seen with an invisible title in cutscenes.  I had to learn this the hard way.

 

another tip: set allies/enemies for everyone in your rivalries before you create them.  If you plan a tag title rivalry, don't bother. for some reason any tag rivalry that involves anyone with a championship, Singles, Major, Tag, ends in Rival Team A vs Rival Team B every week.

Nice  topic  as  I'm sure this will be most useful when doing universe mode.  Maybe a  mod  could  sticky it  so it  doesn't get lost later amidst   all the other  topics and it makes for easier  reference  later as other  start   the mode

yeah i've been testing stuff out since 2k15's universe but i've been playing universe since svr11 so i pretty much know alot about what works and what doesn't

when you are in universe go into edit superstars at the top there's an option called personality traits. the ones that does alot is having a dominant trait of Aggressive, Bold, or egotistical.

if you have a title rivalry what i normally have done is given the champ the prideful trait and given the person challenging for the title the Bold or aggressive dominant trait. whatever trait has the highest number is the dominant one.  hope this helps.

 What i do is this:

- I put the wrestlers that i want to see on a main  tv show  in the game  and the others wrestlers in other shows, for example, Brock Lesnar in raw and "american alfa" in nxt. 

- It's all about the ranking, every show has a Ranking, the winners goes to better shows, the losers to the worst.

- I separate wrestlers who goes for the intercontinental champion and those who goes for the wwe universe champion title.

- I put on every wrestler a red part on their body, so they can  have an injury easily

- I create a show called Hall of fame, this one have wrestlers like Rock, stone cold, Sting etc.

-Hall of Fame have a golden belt, the wrestler who wins this belt at wrestlemania, can participate in all shows whenever he likes, if this wrestler finish last in the  ranking table of the show, he becomes no longer member of this one, but he still be part of the "hall of fame" show.

-There's a PPV event called King of the ring, where every match that isn't for a Title, is a qualifyng match to be part of the King of the ring tournament. I play the tournament outside of the Universe Mode (because you can't play this tournament inside the universe mode), and the winner can go to a better show or fight for a better Belt. The guys who already are fighting for the best belt ( universal Champion), can enter this tournament, but just to make sure that the other wrestlers don't be part of his roster. 

-Raw and smackdown  goes together at "royal rumble" 

- At the end of summerslam and wrestlemania, i draft wrestlers depending of the ranking of every show.

- I created a belt called Andre the gigant memorial, where i put a battle royal  between random members of Raw, Smackdown and Nxt, the winner carries the belt all the year.

-At the end of wrestlemania  i choose a wrestler that goes to hall of fame depending on the records that he have, for example if brock lesnar wins the belt more times than jhon Cena, Brocks becomes a new member of hall of fame..

-Matches that became bored or are the last matches in a PPV and those are not for a belt, i treat them as a career draft matches, where the loser goes to other show. 
  The winner could go to a better show, or the looser goes to a worst show.

-Start a caw of yourself, and start fighting in the worst show, beat your oponents step by step and become a part of the Hall of Fame show!!

 thats´s pretty much what i do to play this game.  Have fun!
