Help with Managers please

I've played non stop and no matter what I do, my manger won't help me in ANY way. Computers manager will interrupt pin falls, distract ref, give a weapon. But when I try to push buttons or I'm in a jam, my manager just sits there like a dumbass. Please help me if you know how to make managers work?

from what i know it's automatic but you need to make sure the manager has the mouthpiece ablility. it helps if they are a heel too even if you are a face.  face managers hardly do anything at all.

Wait, I thought the description of Mouthpiece says that the wrestler has to have Mouthpiece as ability, not the manager. What is it?

manager and superstar as far as i understand it from 2k16. in 2k17 you can edit the manager abilities (i think) so it stands reason that that ability would need to be on the superstar you're playing as as well as the manager
