Red Rooster Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Doesnt work in paint dot net you need to use Photoshop. I never managed to get a dds with alpha/normal to save correctly in paint dot net Quote
MisterJay Posted December 5, 2016 Author Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) ok thank you red, otherwise i would have tested it endlessly with ever format and options there are. Doesnt work in paint dot net you need to use Photoshop. I never managed to get a dds with alpha/normal to save correctly in paint dot net but how do i have to save it in photoshop then? Red Rooster Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Normally DXT5 depending on what the original was. If you open a dds file with a hex editor it will say if its DXT5 or DXT1 and make sure to look out for the value at 1C which tells you how many mipmaps. Quote

(and of course save it with the same DXT from the original) Quote
Red Rooster Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) No in photoshop when you save a DDS file you get to choose how many mipmaps to generate or you can choose No Mipmaps if they arent needed. Just remember that the value at 1C is a hexidecimal value so sometimes it will be 0A which is 10 or 0B which is 11 etc. Edited December 5, 2016 by Red Rooster Quote
