SLOW load times after installing new drive? [SOLVED]

Posted (edited)

I know this'd probably be better posted on a dedicated PC site, but I can't be arsed to sign up to one so hopefully you folk can give me some advice.

I had 2 500GB SSDs in my PC (one for Windows and program files, one for games), and one HDD for general file storage. I needed more space for games so I bought another SSD, but I had no more SATA ports on the mobo, so I bought a SATA PCI card to create a couple extra SATA ports. Then hooked the HDD up to that and all the SSDs are hooked up to the motherboard. Problem now is, I used to get really nice loading times, but since I've made these adjustments, my load times have gone to absolute shit on all games. They still play as well as they did, but for example, I'm at the splashscreen for over a minute with 2K16 and on other games the map would load in 10 seconds, whereas now it takes over a minute.

I'm gonna try and reconnect the HDD to the mobo and connect my Blu Ray drive up to the card instead and see if this helps, but if not then is there another fix for this?

Thanks guys :)

EDIT: Swapping things around did indeed solve the problem, not quite sure how that works but it worked nonetheless. Shame I didn't think of it before I'd already written out most of this thread or I'd have tried it first before making the thread :lol
