Another face texture topic.

So I've tried time and time again to get some good faces. I have photoshop and a collection of screenshots, renders and texture packs from every wrestling game since RAW. I tried using the face textures from the games... have had no luck. I've looked at the face textures that some of the top creations are using and they just work out perfect... what am I doing wrong??

All I did for my Hawkins was this... and it worked out pretty nicely 

 

 

And then I tried something similar with Mercury and I got this, which works for me.. but I want to do a bunch of others... 

 

 

 

Im not plugging my stuff either, I dont want to crop my pictures again. 

Does anyone have a template? Tips?

From experience in previous games, I remember game textures were a hit or miss. I had the best luck with them using them as a logo on the face instead of the face capture. It seems like the best faces I've seen this year are a good straight on shot of the person's face, with a flesh tone ring around it to help it blend.
