Protect logos from being stolen?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been working hard on an ECW arena that I'll be uploading tonight. Last year I made a handful of arenas and pretty much instantly the logos started appearing all over the place with no credit ever given even though I set the arena to not be able to be re-uploaded.

Is there any way to protect your logos? Or is it basically a free for all for people to take them and re-upload them as much as they please?

ECW logo not that hard to make you know.

I'm not talking about the basic ECW logo but thanks for the contribution. I'm talking about the stage I made, and countless banners and other logos that I spent hours making.

It's not possible. It's pretty annoying when you have to deal with the upload limits. People doing that takes away from your progress.

Nothing you can do, which is a bummer.

Hope that getting the best product up first keeps you in the top downloads.

This blows. Does anyone know if there's ever been an explanation from 2K as to why that's the case? I don't have a problem with the fact that people can go into my arena and change it once they've downloaded it, but the idea that it gives them the ability to re-upload every logo I've created makes no sense. I'm assuming it's the same for CAW's?

We're basically fucked if we don't want our shit stolen. Only way to avoid it is to not upload your work sadly..

Personally I don't really care if other people use my logos, I'll give them to anyone that asks anyway. But it really fucks me off that the game doesn't give you any way to protect your logos from being stolen, they take a lot of work to make and at the very least the person using them deserves credit for them if nothing else.

Mate, if I were you, I'd probably look into showcasing my creations on the forums without ever uploading anything. THQ were a bit more protective over intellectual property whereas 2K doesn't give a shit and it's a copyright free-for-all. That's the price the user pays for signing the EULA upon startup--a stretched rectum.
