The containers are different this yeah...

damn ive tried to figure it out and change the pac headers like the 2k16 pac files still no go :( hopefully we can get them open.

Ive managed to extract the yobjs and textures but I had to do it manually with Hex Editor

 

Red, are the ps3 pac files compatibles to use in wwe2k14  or the same shit like 360 files?

They arent compressed like the 360 ones are but they are still different, Xpacker wont work on them.

Hmmmmmmmm, that makes it harder to mod now. I had some old textures to change some wrestlers. The game is lack of attires, only one for Macho and a maximun of two attires for wrestler. Only two attires for Warrior when in previous games he give a lot of attires for some wrestlers. Lack of arenas and lack of creation options.

The good thing is the return of the camera angles during matches. Other bad thing is the horrible renders to match with caws, but since I never use caws....

I can't even find the texture files in hex editor to extract them.

They're there. The order of the BPEs are the same as they'd typically be in a PACH. First is 0000, then 0A00, then 0C00--with the second containing the texture archive with the normal.dds and the third containing the one with the color.dds. It's an absolute pain in the ass to sort out right now, but you can extract everything you'd need manually via hex editor. As for getting things back in for the time being, that's probably another story.

I think I actually like it this way....call me crazy but it will mean people will have to learn how to do this stuff the old fashioned way :)

shit so xpacker will never open them man it's a pain in the ass now, I manually did minitrons and wall trons for 2k15 omg so much notes I had to take down to remember all the offsets of who's who smh this sucks..hopefully it could work with xpacker sometime idk if tekken would have to update xpacker or not.

They do, thats how we are extracting files from the BPEs

yes, the latest version of the yuke.bms script worked directly with pac files. You didn't had to extract the bpe files with an hexeditor.

But i just tested and the yuke.bms script can't extract directly from the 2k17 pac files. :-(

I hardly can use a hex editor but I get success extracting textures. But for other kind of mods like replacing wrestlers with others we need an updated X-Packer. Too much time to loose with this method.

i tried to extract the chpac file textures on quick bms and they wont extract at all ?

You ask me in PM but better I´ll put it for everybody that want to know hoe to do it.

Umcompress the Ch like always. Open the uncompressed file in a hex editor. The go to search and search for BPE

First one is the yobj model. Second is the 000A and thiird is 000C.

When you find the one you want, write in some txt the place it is. Look another time bpe and mark just before BPE to copy it. Now go manually up to the place you type out before in the txt and copy from the mark you did with the mouse to the BPE letters.

Paste it in a new window.

Save it naming like you want, but with the BPE extension at the end.

Open X-Packer get a patch from 2K14 or 2K15, inject the bpe over the file you want, Now uncompress the file to get the BPE uncompressed. Open the pac file like a texture file with X-Packer. Now you get your DDS to edit it.

I hope it´s explained fine enough.

Not difficult, just a pain in the backside, whats needed is a script that will run through the pac file and export the BPE's

can you or anyone point me into the direction on how to do that? I have all my pac files, I assume that the arena ones are in the bg folder? after uncompressing a bg pac I'm pretty much lost on what to do next to where I'm looking at obj files or any textures.

They are the BPE files inside the decompressed pac but there will be a shit ton of them, I wouldnt even bother until there is a tool to extract them.

Noooo ... why did they do that? The only thing I knew in moding was to inject ch and bg pacs and now its gone. I wanted to included Beefcake / Sid Justice and Texas Tonrado in my 2K14! How would I do that now :(

I am guessing 2K has changed it to make the moding difficult ..  so disappointed

admittedly I'm just guessing here, but I imagine they are trying to bring the WWE2K17 file format inline with that used in other 2k games as the one we're all familiar with, they inherited from THQ and probably makes development more awkward for them
