Anyone else disappointed with this years CAW?  No body morphing really hurts it this year I feel.

Posted (edited)

I don't know.... so far from what I've seen, the caws this year look better than the ones from last year except a select few from 2k16 that really stood out from the rest. Maybe, its just me.

I'm only disappointed that caw makers cannot add custom logos or WWE logos to the FACES* of in-game models.........yet.

Also, the 5 logo limit per caw..... I don't understand that. Someone said last year, the limit was 12.....

No. I wouldn't kid about stuff like that. I wish to be proven wrong or mistaken but so far the 1 caw I downloaded did only come with 5 logos. I'll test some more out tomorrow.

yeah im disappointed that they took out the copy feat so no logo glitch, plus adding logos to arm sucks because u can only go halfway down u havve to stretch the logo way out to fill up the arm and then parts of logo stretch out to the legs and back and chest

mrelectriccity I must say I'm a little surprised by your disappointment, I would've though you would be having an orgasm over all of the face blemishes that look like burnt skin and rotting flesh.

I mainly upgraded then bought this game because of the return of free roam backstage brawls & crowd fighting. If it weren't for that, I would not have wa$ted my time and just got it for PC. I like the game now but I can see why people who've been converted since 2K15 are disappointed about certain things this year. Had I been shelling out 100+ dollars every year for their games since WWE 2K15, I would expect some major fixes, inclusions, overhauls etc by now too.

This is all new to me though. So, it is gonna be a 1st timer / fun learning experience for myself.

In all honesty you haven't missed much really. Personally I would have rathered a smaller roster but with bigger, better names such as Hulk Hogan (Red/Yellow and nWo), Sid Vicious, Steiner Brothers etc. An array of alternate attires for these superstars as well instead of leaving it to the community all the while to create. Surely DEVs whom I guess are paid a lot of money can be just a little more creative? Can they? I guess not. For example you can change Ultimate Warrior's attire yourself. Great, awesome, but you cant change his face paint. Same goes with Sting.

Free roam, Backstage Brawls etc are back after a lengthy hiatus yes so fair play there. The dodgy art for the screen logos are a step back compared to the photo's of last year and beyond.

Yep you should wait for the PC version as there are plenty of very good modders out there just waiting to crawl all over this disappointment of a game and make it the game it so richly deserves to be.

Yea I'm ranting again, but as usual the build up to release, all the hype surrounding it, and..................its kind of like watching your worst PPV (or match in that PPV) and then it doesn't turn out to be all that good really and there have been some matches and indeed PPV's over the years from certain companies in the business (past and present) that have under achieved after a great build up.

Anyways enough of me ranting on, I shall head on back to my wonderfully modded (heavily) version of 2K16 on PC and carry on from there. Oh yea I forgot to say that in Universe Mode if you decide to add in or edit a PPV to say Backlash, theres not an option for the commentary team to announce it as such. Your stuck with the default ones which just so happen to be the latest (2016) PPV's and a few extras at best.

Id actually rather 2K (hang up their tights) or take a break from yearly releases and concentrate for at least a couple of years after a release to take their time and give us a really good version instead of rushing a tired old formula which gets a cosmetic makeover each year.

Ok I'm done now. Thank you.

Not only that, but the PC version will probably be cheaper by about half and include all the DLC.

the morphing is out so that sucks a bit, the face capture is kinda off a bit, in wwe2k16 you can pick a skin tone from the face and that applied to the whole caw, now you pick a skin tone from the face and it just applies to the body, so if your face is really red? guess what you gotta make the body kinda red too to match, the tattoo's on the forearms is out for now i guess too, so if you want to make custom sleeve tattoo's not happening hope they patch that up.  a got a few complaints but its not THAAAT bad yet. I guess i gotta make my photo imports brighter and test it out.

I actually appreciate that rant you did. Good read & I agree 100%. I also spoke with 3 individuals on here privately about getting the PC version as opposed to the standard console version and they pretty much agreed that PC is the best way to go especially if you're a legends fan. So, I feel you man.

I just didn't feel like waiting that long to play 2K17 especially since I basically got my brand new 1st ever Playstation 4 as a free gift. So, I refused to resist & didn't mind getting it for PS4 but I'm definitely gonna get the PC version when it comes out. Based on everything that happens between this year & next year before the release of 2K18, I'm gonna make a final decision to either stick with console gaming or PC for WWE games.

All those mods by amazing artists like Dennis-Biaser, DefDave & several others on here, really get me excited & hyped for PC. And like I've said on several occasions, imagine what they could do with 2K17 if they're able to mod backstage areas, create a show /PPVs etc :D:D:D:D:D

Try to put a logo on the inside of the upper thighs on any pair of tights. It will spread to the other leg and there's nothing you can do about it.But logos straight on the skin won't do it.

No trunks on top of tights neither.

Try to do Misawa pants with this crap!! Been trying for an hour.

That's bullshit, I was able to put more then 5 logos on the Liger Caw I'm working on

Ah! Another case of misleading members. Jeff's flame burns bright around these neck of the woods, eh.

I've got around 20 or so custom logos on my personal caw, so that "only 5 logo" comment is BS!!!

Thank you for the comment, and yes PC version is the way to go, although like yourself I couldn't wait for a PC release and wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about regarding the latest release. As for jumping in at the deep end, after receiving your first ever PS4, then 2K17 isn't a bad place to start tbh rather than opting for a previous version.

Imo though as far as 2K18 goes I will certainly wait until the PC version becomes available. I wont make the mistake of buying it on PS4 just because the consoles get an earlier release.

They are just a few of the great modders out there. Also there are the utility tools created by the likes of Cave Waverider and The Visitor X to name but two which are mint mods to use alongside the mods themselves. These tools enable us to install pac files, pofo and movesets far far easier than fiddling around in files all the while. It makes for far simpler and safer installation and removal of mods. They are in essence the WWE games version of NMM for Skyrim and Fallout 4. Brilliant tools. So a big thanks to those guys and all other modders out there.

Exactamént to both.

Edit: I also forgot to mention LordJustice for bringing us an amazing arena mod. Thank you for that.

You can't even fuse the skin color and the face photo anymore. Why ?????? Now they all look like WWE 2K15 caws .

I'm almost to a point of returning the game sadly. Just not feeling it this year.

@ HOFSheamus - I am afraid the renders are not real life photos no, but I guess CAWS don't seem too out of place next to the renders from this year now

@ Bannockburn - Remember that on console there are limitations and its a case of getting by that if you can. The PC version will be so much better because of mods. That goes for just about any PC game.

Mods can't fix internal game breaking bugs. Mods polish turds.

Well I am glad that I have stuck with it, its taken a while but I am sort of coming around to the idea of keeping the game. For sure yes the first couple of hours I thought it was trash. But at the same time that doesn't mean to say that I love it either. It is still a rushed product, as it has been for a few years now. I did mention in another topic on here that 2K, or whomever, should take their time and produce a really good, authentic, realistic game. Even if this takes a few years. You don't see Rockstar chuck out a sequel to Red Dead Redemption the year after do you? Its the same with EA and Fifa, that's a tired old formula as well. For current gen consoles I am afraid since 2K15 these games haven't exactly been the best. I may be going back a few years now but I remember the likes of Smackdown vs Raw being better. But back on track, this years game does have its good points, but it also has its bad points. Jurys out on this one, but we will see. Ill give it a bit longer.
