For what it's worth, after the airing of the September 13th edition of SmackDown LIVE, General Manager Daniel Bryan revealed in kayfabe on the post-show Talking Smack that that he has big plans for James Ellsworth, one of which would have been a replacement for Brock Lesnar on the cover for WWE 2K17 had he been successful in his main-event SmackDown LIVE debut match.

A 3-D cover for the game reminiscent of the picture above was flashed on the screen alongside Bryan explaining to the viewers "what could have been," where he expertly pointed out that he had a cover "already made" for the occasion.
