Hi Smacktalks community.

So with the Custom Character Tools created by @TheVisitorX it's now quite easy to replace renders but I would like to have custom renders for the mods rather than for the default wrestlers.

I understand that, to do this, I have to replace one of the game's wrestler with a modded one, but the thing is that I would like to keep the wrestlers I replace, maybe by reinstalling them in the original slot reserved for the modded wrestler.

I would like to know if I can do this without creating issues, I know how to install a modded wrestler to the slot of my choice (with the changes in the .pac file) but is it different with the default wrestler ?

You can do this by simply swapping over the pach ID's within the pac files.

Use a hex editor and scroll down to line 800 and change the 3 digits of the ID you want to change to whatever you want to change it to.

Then do the same in the other character.

You will have to do this for each attire.

Then you will have to keep in mind that the game will now treat that slot as the original character when it comes to commentary, not much you can do about that.

You can however now change the render for the slot you just placed your mod in, assuming you replaced Mikey Whipwreck for example you will have to swap Whipwrecks render, and when doing the entrance stuff you will have to remember that Whipwreck now refers to your modded character.

It's probably best you keep a notepad handy so you know which slot refers to whom if you swap them over.

You can also name your ch pac file to something you will recognise to keep track of. eg: ch55402 - My AJ Styles (Mikey Whipwreck default.pac

That was fast, thanks for the detailled answer.

Yes I will do this, and I will put the original character at the modded one's slot

Would the game still recognize it ?

One last thing, is this how people add renders to their modded wrestlers ? I mean, the part where we replace an original character.

Yes and yes.

The game doesn't worry about the names of files so much as the pach within it, the file name is basically only important when it comes to load order if there are clashing files.

So if you have two characters using the exact same pach ID it will prioritise them by the last it loads into memory.

In fact I have all my characters in their own folders and my WWE2K15 ported over stuff in its own folder.
