Matt6sic6 Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 Thank you sir! That's what I like to hear. I hate that the project has taken so long. 3 or 4 attires turned into 24 pretty damn quickly. And since I didn't have a way of previewing my textures on a model until 2 days ago, I was doing it the hard way by packaging the textures into an archive, injecting it into the pach, then into the pac, and then installing the pac, and finally viewing it in game. There was a LOT of trial and error before I got a copy of X-Rey. Just wish I knew how to operate it a bit better. Quote

Matt6sic6 Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) I figured it out half right. I can't view the entire model correctly (I've asked and been ignored), but I can view specific parts such as just the shirt which works for what I'm doing. I'll see if I can walk you through it with pictures.First things first, this is how I do my Folder structure. I find it simpler to work this way:Name your first folder after your project, inside that folder create a folder and name it Pach, inside that folder create a folder and name it Decompressed Archive, and inside that folder make 2 folders and name one 000A and 000C. 000A is the folder that contains the textures for your characters clothing, whereas 000C contains textures for the skin and hair and stuff. Now, Place your Wrestlers pac file in your Project folder, and using X-Packer extract the Pach to the Pach folder. Then, Decompress the Pach and place the decompressed files in the Decompressed Archive. And from here, you Extract the textures from the 000A.pac and the 000C.pac and place those .dds images in their respective folders. Now, navigate to the Decompressed Archive folder and find the file called 0000.pac. You will need to change the file extension of this file, simply rename it from "0000.pac" to "0000.yobj"Now, open up x-rey and hit ctrl+n and navigate to the 0000.yobj and open it up. It should look something like this:You'll need to find which object is the t-shirt. In the case of Tommy here, the t-shirt is Object10, just scroll down and double click on the text "Object10" and it will load just the shirt model like so:Now that you know how to load the model for what you're retexturing, close x-rey and navigate to the 000A folder. The t-shirt texture will be labeled "tops.dds" Open Tops.dds in Photoshop or whichever image editing software you use and save it as a .png file but rename it "color.png" Then take that new file and place it in the Decompressed Archive folder like so:Now open back up X-rey and load your 0000.yobj again. This time, the whole model will be textured with your color.png image:Simply double click Object10 or whichever part you're working with and it'll display the texture on just that item:If you hold down your right mouse button over the model you can rotate it around and look at it from all angles. To reset the view, double left click the green square with the U on it.One sad thing about this program is you don't seem to be able to edit the image in real time, meaning you have to close x-rey and re-open it each time you make an adjustment to your image. But, the beauty of the program is that that takes little to no time at all, it's almost instant, whereas packing up all these files and loading them in game can take upwards to 5 to 10 to 20 minutes depending on your computer. Anyway, once you're satisfied with how your image looks on the model, save it as a DDS file instead of PNG and place it in the 000A folder, and then start packing the files back up.I hope this helps you.
