WWE 2K17: Goldberg's Full Ring Entrance - Video

I guess I'm the only one who hates this Nitro arena.  The colored lights |---| on the stage (purple on SvR 2011) are completely switched off.  They used the WWF New Generation on-screen graphic instead of the transparent Nitro logo.  And the worst part of all, a striped shirt referee.  How did they have blue shirt refs in 2K16 and just forget to use one in the Monday Nitro arena?  It's already created!  What kind of logic is that?  Does not compute.  Half-assed.  Did 2K even watch WCW?  This arena was the draw for me, but now it's a big buzz kill.  Depressing.  I hope it's just the beta, and they'll fix the referee before launch.  Then, I'd be fine with it.

it doesn't bother me. it's 150% better than that POS Nitro arena THQ did for SVR11 and WWE12. you can turn off the new generation graphic. like i said it is what it is but i give them an A for effort.

i get that you're a huge wcw fan. i am as well, but i'm not going to completely judge until i see it for myself. and there's still a slight chance we can edit the arena in CAA. If they were smart enough to realize we'd want to change it.  My question is this. is the arena supposed to be based off of 97 or 98? cause it kinda seems like a hybrid

it's not a hybrid.. It's Summer '98, which I'm thinking is the Scott Hall & Hogan night.. That's why the banners are updated and the ring is blank. WCW didn't change that ring mat until a little later.. I think later that month or the next. There was a brief time (I was doing a lot of research during my Wolfpac Sting mod) where the ring mat would be darker like this( almost as dark as the Nitro game), but then one night they had the WCW Monday Nitro TNT logo and kept it until mid 99 or so when they rebooted with the Star stage. You can probably pin point it on the network. The only difference between the video and the game is that the ring mat isn't as dark.

EDIT: July '98 is when they changed the banners, but kept the ring mat blank. They added the mat logo on August 10th 98

ah okay yeah i got you. yeah i wasn't exactly sure i mean i always have seen people put the nitro logo on the mat and only thought it was a 98 time when they did that but yeah. i've always wanted them to attempt the nitro 99 stage with the C opening up during entrances only cause i wanted to see Flair almost trip and threaten to fire someone if they didn't change it lol i remember them saying that flair did that or something like that when he was "in charge" but yeah. i really have no complaints over the arena. it's a huge improvement to the svr11/wwe12 ones so yeah i'm happy. sure they could have put more thought into it and if it actually ends up being a template, the possibilities can be endless!

yeah.. it's not best it's not HORRIBLE like the older games. I've mentioned my grievances with it, but for me it's not a game killer. The only other thing I wish that it had, was the removal of the commentators at ring side. Even if they weren't off to the side like real life or like WWF during the TNN days, I'd prefer the NXT ring side model. 

 

I'm more interested to see what Halloween Havoc looks like now. Especially if it's 98 HH. I want to see how they design the pumpkin and monster, and if it moves etc... I feel like I'm just wanting the game to get better and improve on modes etc, because hopefully we'll just be able to mess around with the PC version to the point I can get the WCW game that I've wanted since WCW died. If I get it on console it'll just be to create arenas again. Hopefully with Nitro and havoc we get more of a WCW CAW selection like the way it was on 2K14. I remember having a whole damn roster of WCW CAWs

yeah i just hope that halloween havoc this time around has the right show location lol

but yeah. i think even though it wasn't a great game, that WCW Nitro the game had a real good representation of the arenas. yeah i had the entire 95-01 roster in 2k14. and man i'd love it even if it was dlc if they gave us that nwo dlc again lol. and yeah we're in the same company. i've been replicating wcw since i think HCTP lol. i can't remember what game it was but i know one of those early smackdown games had a scorpion death drop off the top rope. i'm assuming it was either Just bring it (which i don't own anymore) or SYM or HCTP but yeah i think this may be the closest we get to a decent wcw game especially on pc with mods and all. and if everyone that was in 2k16 wcw content wise are in and just aren't announced i'll be cool with that.

right now my wcw universe i just finished up World War 3, i did the whole giant getting kicked out of nWo (thru 2k14's story designer with that invasion cutscene of course) so i think by the time 2k17 comes out i'll be right around January 97 so that'd be cool.

but all that aside this game is definitely shaping up to be one of the best.  every week i tell my roomate to take notes of my reactions now and take note of my reaction when i start playing the game cause every year i get let down.  2k15 was the removal of stuff and limited cas slots, 2k16 was the universe issues. so we'll see.  hopefully 2k17 does excel in universe and they were able to take care of all those issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if they copied the WWE 12 verison & pasted it into 2k17 for last gen users lol

Also, today Smacktalks confirmed that we can walk/fight from that little crowd section to where the stage/entrance is & perform diving moves off there now. I'm so happy : )
