Could the codebreakerv8.0 damage the Ps2 console

Because now that i use coderbreaker my Ps2 always Have a

read disc error when I Play a game.

Please tell me whats wrong!!

its because ur ps2 disc reader, one of the lasers, could be fried. i had a friend with the same problem, he had to pay like 200$ so he didnt do it. im not for sure but that may be the problem.
