CommanderRiner Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I would like to start creating mods for the game rather than just wait to see if someone makes them eventually. What tools do I need to get started? 1 Quote

4 Life Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) Good post above. In terms of character mods, I'd advise you to start with some texture mods first. This is just extracting the graphics files that wrap around a wrestler. Editing these, you can change the colours of anything on the model, add different logos, change the amount of shine on things and even add extra little lumps and bumps once you get good at it working with 'normal' files - for example, I managed to add some 3D buckles to my Booker T mod's boots just by messing with the normal file. Wheras to do proper head and body sculpting, adding different clothing items, changing haistyles etc, that's all model editing which is a lot more complicated to learn. Last thing you want is to still be learning how to texture mod while you're also trying to get your objects working properly. So yeah, I say do some texture mods first. Good examples of mods that were made through texturing alone were my Bret Hart attire pack, since he always wore the same 'objects' but with different designs. Really helps if you're good with graphics and photoshop in particular. I'm not the greatest designer in the world, but I have a good knowledge of the things you can accomplish in photoshop so that gets me by If you wanna try your hand at texture modding then shoot me a PM and I'll help you get started.
