hovathagod32 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Working with the WCW stuff, the biggest difference with the rings are that WWE's rings look like ropes and have a braided rope-like texture compared to WCW. I found the files but the normals are rope_g.dds as well as the rope_n.dds which have a yellowish tint instead of a blue one. I don't want to be an asshole and just ask do I just color them with a yellow tint, but is there a technical way to create them? Edited July 31, 2016 by hovathagod32 Quote
bravebird31 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 ...fill the blue channel of your normal map black. 1 Quote
hovathagod32 Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 ...fill the blue channel of your normal map black.thank you, that worked, but it removed a lot of the shine, so I have to figure out how to make it all lighter, but still keep the colors. more trial and error I guess Quote

It will create an bw alpha from the pic that you can copy and paste to the blue channel. 2 Quote
Cave Waverider Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) What Brave said should work. Alternatively, you could try to create the normal map with inverted RGB or, which might be even better, create the normal map regularly and use the match color feature of Photoshop to match the color to an existing *_g.dds file you've open at the moment. I figured the colors had to be done a bit better but I was being lazy and impatient These were the results (on top) of what I tried that Brave mentioned after I made my normal for the rope.. it's definitely isn't as bright as what it should be and you can tell by the ring rope in game but the goal is to have the same shine as the WWE ropes, but without the braided look. So I'll look into that later on. Quote
