Fresh New Install Possible?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Okay so I can not figure out how to get a clean 100% fresh install from steam.  I understand under properties I can unclick the Steam CLoud sync.

I did that and after this I bought a new alpha console and reinstalled WWE2k16 and my mod files all seemed to be there in game.  And as I stated before the sync cloud save was unchecked under properties in steam WWE2k16 tab.  Is it possible does anyone know to start from scratch ?  Because I tried on my computer maybe times with same result.  I didn't buy the Alpha for that reason but it was done on it as a new new computer so now I really don't know what to do.,

Try not to respond with removing or finding that userdata/number/38570 file because i know and remove that too as well as Documents/WWE2k16 (Even i know it's just for options)

Try deleting all the game files manually before you reinstall the game.

Uninstall the game through steam.

Now head to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and delete your WWE2K16 folder.

If you want to delete your saves.

Head to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\xxxxxxxxx\ and delete folder 385730 (the xxxx's being your Steam ID number)

If you want to delete your config settings.

Head to This PC > Documents and delete the WWE2K16 folder.

Install the game, enjoy a completely clean copy of WWE2K16.

Thank you 4LifeBrother and Perfectplex for your efforts and concern.

I tried what you both said many times but it turns out this was the solution.  I'm new again and ready to rock :)

  1. Start Steam.
  2. Disable Steam Cloud.
  3. Delete all files in Steam\userdata\SteamID\AppID.
  4. Start the game to create fresh (and thus different) new files.
  5. Exit the game and Steam.
  6. Delete remotecache.vdf in Steam\userdata\SteamID\AppID.
  7. Start Steam.
  8. Then Perfectplex's guide,  minus the deleting I already did.

However I just unlocked the DLC people and picked Alundra vs Lita to get rid of the "NEW" icons and the game crashed preparing for match with not 1 mod installed lol,  perfect

But not the second attempt all seems well now.
