Penguin Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 Nakamura wasn't on the indy circuit silly billy!NJPW is considered Indy in my book. it isn't televisedBiggest wrestling company in Japan, and it is televised.on what channel? right overseas doesn't count. so basically you consider ROH non-indy? cause i'd have to disagree with that.anyway there's more important things.. like what just happened on raw...AXS TV, Jim Ross is the play by play commentator and if you class ROH as Indy then what do you class TNA? the King Lives Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 To his credit, I think we've all become experts in catching Cena yelling his spots.I thought he just started doing thatIf by just, you mean since 2002, then yeah. As far as Maffew bringing it into relevancy, you're looking at circa 2010.well mind you I hadn't watched wwe from like mania 31 - mitb 16 so mitb 16 was my first time actually noticing it. I've seen him say stuff to his opponent(s) but never actually heard it as loud as at MITB and last night at BG Quote

the King Lives Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 So, wrestling didn't exist for you before March 29, 2015?it did but I said I stopped after mania 30 and didn't start watching again till mitb this year. I took a hiatus like this before back in 08. I stopped after mania 24 and didn't start really watching again till around late 2010 I was as lost back then as I have been these past 2 days. finding out they no longer referred the AA as the FU and the STFU was renamed to just STF. and the new people I was just completely lost. back then I didn't even know what was so special about dolph or swagger but I slowly got back into it. I think from 08 - 11 I only played the games and that was it. after the Shelton Benjamin stuff started going sour and I went back to school for my 2nd degree I just didn't have time nor did I care. after the Spamming lesnar, taker's streak, the women's division being horrid for so long, cena not losing or turning heel, I kinda game up. I didn't somewhat take a chance with wwe again till I started watching zayn and owens and of course cesaro, those 3 plus finn and seth are considered the future in my book. Roman can go to hell as far as i'm concerned I don't want him anywhere near the title. Quote

It's a Japanese promotion, not an American one, so a Japanese TV deal is more important for them. NJPW is thriving in it's home country and has a bigger share of the market over there than WWE does. Which I might add is kind of irrelevant to the argument you made since it is televised in America, plus they also have a streaming service which has sold a decent share of subscriptions to customers outside of Japan. Not to mention it's the closest thing WWE has had to competition since WCW died. How is ROH relevant here? You posed that argument not him, he simply refuted your claim.Fuck what just happened on Raw, there's more important things.. Like the G1 Climax going on in NJPW... Quote

Like the G1 Climax going on in NJPW...NJPW isn't televised in the states so however mainstream it may be overseas I still see it as indy promotion. ROH I consider indy too but he claimed that because a promotion had a tv deal it's auto considered to be non-indy. same with Lucha Underground, GFW or whatever it's called. all of those are indy. in fact the only promotions that are not considered independent are WWE and TNA which is one reason I stopped watching wrestling after the sale of wcw happened and didn't start watching till way after the invasion angle (2004) cause even though TNA is somewhat relevant, vince has the monopoly, has had it for the past 15 years and I just don't see that changing anytime soon. Maybe if most of these independent circuits would band together they'd be able to put some competition against the E but until then that's where I stand. Quote

HiPcavallo Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 LOL, NJPW has more coverage than TNA does, and brings in a lot more revenue. If NJPW was considered indy then so is TNA (actually you could argue TNA is an indy fed now with how far it's fallen). Believe it or not America isn't the be all and end all, a company's status is not defined by its presence in America, especially when it isn't catering to that market.Lucha Underground technically isn't exactly indy either. It doesn't operate like a typical wrestling company, it operates like a seasonal TV series, therefore it's categorized differently. 1 Quote

Just to add. so now you want to jump on me. and that was 25 years ago. things change. and they were only featured and mentioned on wcw programming. I have asked 3 times now what channel are they featured on? states or overseas and still no one is answering that question. okay maybe you don't see NJPW an indy but I consider any organization that is not advertised as much as wcw wwe or tna ever has been is independent. but i'll ust leave it at that. I've had a very stressful morning and my doctor tells me I need to avoid losing my temper or dealing with a bunch of meaningless arguments. NJPW Indy? Jai himself used to watch WCW. Which for a number of years had a partnership with NJPW. Just to add. He ain't the sharpest knife in the tool box it's just as independent as ROH, GFW, lucha underground etc etc and etc. but whatever. you people just find any and every reason to gang up on someone.
