WWEShady Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Great work man, but I have a issue with this "Compress and inject" part, keeps giving me an error on Xpacker. I can only Inject, however, only injecting makes my game crash every time. Do you know if there's a way to fix this?!Thank you in advance! Quote

4 Life Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 (edited) Thought I'd give Paint.net a go but it doesn't seem to want to open the .dds file, says unsupported DDS format Good start on the tutorial as well mate but it's very vague, needs much more detail for the inexperienced render modder Great work man, but I have a issue with this "Compress and inject" part, keeps giving me an error on Xpacker. I can only Inject, however, only injecting makes my game crash every time. Do you know if there's a way to fix this?!Thank you in advance! If you get the "cannot be compressed" error that means the PNG that you pasted into the DDS was too large in file size mate. Definitely want it to be below 500kb in size, though ideally below 300kb but in some cases it needs to be below 200 or even 100 in some cases, all depends on the render you're trying to inject into. If you upload the image onto TinyPNG then it'll be compressed to a much smaller size without a great deal of quality loss, and you can download that version. It'll normally be smaller than 300kb after being run through there. If you try again and get the error again, then repeat the compression process and try again, keep doing this until it fits as it may take several tries, but it'll fit eventually! Also try and avoid using images that take up loads of surface area, for example someone with a big cape and a huge mask that takes up the whole image and leaves only a small amount of transparent background showing, as this is known to cause issues. These DDS render images are normally DXT10 and I can't see that in there, would be awesome if another works though in which case we could just use Paintshop Pro with Nvidia DDS tools Quote
