How to remove/modify and inject things into models

Hi Guys,

I need some help. I doing some mods now but I am limited to just texturing because I don't know how to do anything else. Say I want to remove things from models (say.. elbow pads or knee pads)... how do I do that?? Or what if I wanted my model to have new hair? maybe another character's hair...?? Or maybe even give gloves to a certain character.. I am willing to learn please, if someone points me in the right direction I'll work hard on learning from there. I know as far as to get the yobj of a character for now. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Well, I have been looking pretty hard... posted a new topic because I've been coming up short. I've also PMed a few modders asking for help but they were really vague so if you would kindly tell me a search term or a topic or a user, I'll go follow that. Thanks much appreciated. I'm doing this to contribute back to the community anyways.
