WWE 2K16 Available For Free to Xbox Live Gold Members On Xbox One from June 16 – 19

To celebrate the excitement of E3 and the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 19, 2K and Xbox are teaming up to deliver WWE 2K16 for free to Xbox Live Gold members all weekend as part of Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days.

Starting Thursday, June 16 and running through on 11:59PM PT Sunday, June 19 the free play session allows every Xbox Live Gold Member to experience the hard-hitting excitement of WWE 2K16 with a simple download. And if you’d like to continue the fun after the free period, WWE 2K16 will be offered at a special promotional price all week long.

This is your chance to experience the largest roster ever in a WWE game, with over 120 Superstars and Legends to choose from. Current Superstars like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Paige join longtime favorites like The Rock, André the Giant, and Ric Flair. And this is before you add in dozens of additional downloadable content pack characters.

WWE 2K16’s Showcase mode spotlights the career of the one and only Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Play through his most iconic matches and unlock characters, gear, match types, and more.

MyCareer mode returns for its second year, allowing players to live out the dream of starting out in NXT with a created character and making it all the way to the WWE Hall of Fame. New advances include backstage interviews, the ability to interfere with rivals, and the option to form tag teams.

Expanded options allow players the most freedom yet to create their own custom characters. Additional modes not available in the previous WWE 2K title include Create a Female Superstar, Create a Championship, Create an Arena, and Create a Show.

All Gamerscore and Achievements earned during the WWE 2K16 Free Play Days period are yours to keep, and your save and game data will carry on if you decide to take advantage of the special promotional pricing or buy the game another time down the road.

This proves how bad this game is. They rarely give any good expensive games on next gen, and whenever they do it's around Christmas time. I am also surprised by this considering 2K always used the PS4 as their main platform? I am not sure but that's what I remember.

To be fair this has been happening with the NBA 2K games on the PS4 side for a while now. It doesn't necessarily prove if a game is bad or not.

well that's only for previews and such because all 3rd party games (or most) are being developed on ps4 and ported to x1 pretty much the opposite of last gen which is why 360 was the go to platform last gen. that's why the games are a bit more stable on ps4.  but my question is this. when you download a gold game do they still let you keep it after your gold subscription expires? that's how i ended up with so many games with gold games when i had my 360 lol

 

oh and nba2k16 is free on ps4 so i guess that's the tradeoff lol

Once the Gold expires you can't play it anymore but it will still be in your library. Once you renew it gets unlocked again.

It still bugs me how they say its a free game, it isn't. You are paying $60 minimum for the right to basically rent a handful of games you likely never would have played or cared about otherwise.

well if Auday is right and they made it get locked after gold expires then yeah it's bs which is why i don't get PS plus unless i get in the mood to play gta v online but if it's still how it was last time i had a 360 where as long as you got it when you had gold and can still play it even if your gold expires then that's a bit better. that's how i ended up with all 3 gears games for free cause i just had the 1 and 2 day gold passes for when i got some multiplayer games and despite not having gold after they expired i was still able to play Assassin's creed, Saint's row, all 3 Gears games, etc.  so i don't know i don't have an x1 or 360 anymore so i wouldn't be able to verify it

nah i know for certain it wasn't like that 3 months ago when i traded in my 360. i know PSN is like that but 360/microsoft has never been like that. their motto has always been if you had gold at the  time it's still yours to keep. that's why i don't even bother with PS Plus at all lol
