I honestly don't even see why the cancel prompt is necessary, I wouldn't mind getting rid of it myself. Guess I'm a selfish prick to huh? There should at least be an option to remove it though, would definitely be an improvement to the game for everyone it annoys.

that's not what i was getting at. i just dislike the notion of asking things to be removed.  now had he said "make the option to hide all visual cues " when the hud display option is turned off. that would have been a better way to put it.  After getting stuffed moved year after year after year, i'm not really all that gung ho about the phrase "this should be removed" i guess i over did it but that was the point i was trying to make.

Just like the audio options should have individual sliders for Ring announcing and commentary voice, i think the HUD should have multiple on/off toggles for every visual cue in the game.

I do believe you've completely misinterpreted what he was saying.. He clearly wasn't suggesting that the icon be removed from the game completely, just asking if there's an option to remove it.

It's so funny to me, people used to complain about the fact that there was no indication of the pin cancel feature in earlier games, even though a quick read through the game manual would elaborate on that. Once it was changed to L1/LB, and there was still no prompt for it, people complained about NOT KNOWING about it...again.

Now that it can't be hidden, people want it gone...my freaking head hurts.

I do agree that there should be the option to remove the prompt, just as there is for counters, etc. A definite oversight by devs, but so many more people would be complaining if it weren't there. That's just my opinion, though.

I thought it was mostly just people that were bothered enough by the smallest fraction of their screen displaying a prompt that resembles a video game feature, rather than an entirely lifelike broadcast of Monday Night Raw, that they made a topic on a forum about it.

Yes, a tremendous amount, too, for such a minor issue. Growing up, playing just about every wrestling related game from the past 20+ years, I don't think I've ever thought twice about the addition or lack of button prompt preferences. Then again, I'm not trying to make YouTube videos of a game look like it isn't a game, but I know some people take their simulation/prediction videos very seriously. Hahaha.
