You could try switching off the cloud save for the game (it might be a good idea to do so if you don't play on multiple computers anyway) and see if that helps. Otherwise you could try fixing the cloud save by following this guide's Method 2 step by step (really important that you follow the steps exactly, otherwise it might not work).
