Why are there no facial animations on Character Mods?

I've been playing around in 2K16 a while and for some reason I just noticed Character mods don't have face animations.
Is it a technical issue or will the model in the game bug out if it has facial animations?

If you edit anything on the Head Object the animations won't work anymore.

Facial Animations, Not Even Once

That's what bothers me the most about modded wrestlers and pushes me away from them. While I really appreciate the effort, I wonder if using it to just make regular CAWS wouldn't be quicker. Honestly don't see the benefit of well-made mod against a well-made CAW.

A lot of times people mod because of the lack of versatility in CAW making (Although I admit 2k16s CAW Suite is much improved). Simple things like editing hair styles to properly skinning the faces can take away from the accuracy of the CAW. I'll admit I miss the 360/ps3 era days where we didn't lose facial animations with mods, but I also remember the ps2 days where they didn't have facial animations so more often than not I can live with it. Hopefully down the road someone will be able to fix that issue and then all we'll have to worry about is renders for custom dlc.
