Do you know which stadiumXX.pac corresponds to this arena? If so, it probably isn't that hard to do. There should be a texture called something with the word 'sky' in it.

yeah or from SvR 2009 the Tribute to the Troops Arena. It was at daylight too

Yeah, they had outdoors arenas back in SvR '09, so it's not impossible. Matter of fact I have come across a glitch a few times on PC in the WM31 arena where it almost seems like it is daylight, the entire arena is bright as hell, but the sky is dark so that takes away from it. I don't know how this happens but it has a few times now.

It's definitely possible to do but the texture for it is only a 32x64 texture to represent the whole sky. So, it will never look great and the texture size can't be changed. Nevertheless, if you like these pics and want it posted, let me know. I can post it:

looks good but is there a way to get the sky brighter incl. the whole arena? This would be perfect! Looks a littlebit strange
that the sky is bright and the arena inside is dark

yeah, maybe the other guys know how to make the arena brighter. You think you can paste sky textures there? If this is not possible then make it 
blue like in my picture of WM31. After that it would be nice if you could upload these files

yea, that's why i said they are lazy. i mean they could just take out the ceiling/roof, add some daylight sky background then some lighting and flare like effects and you can have a daylight arena.

with the tech/game engines of this time it is not impossible to do such things.

It's not a laziness thing, it's a priority thing in the limitations of time. On PS2 there's alot less detail needed for arenas to look good outside. With next gens lighting system, they'd need to make a completely different one for this one arena to represent daytime and still have all the dynamic lighting effects during entrances look right. I'm not sure it's possible to make it look right because to change the lighting to make it all look like daytime, you'd be changing the lighting of the entire game which means every arena would look like it's inside unless someone can find a workaround.

If you want the game lighter you can always make a SweetFX to use specifically with that arena.

Only alternative would be to find the shader values with CheatEngine.
