Game Crash on start up thanks to new patch

fuck 2k! i'm redownloading the game now,because it crashes because of mods!

Also had the crash.  The only mods I had installed were the String file and the one that removes the grain from classic arenas, if anyone wants to look into those, to see if anything changed with the patch.

i dont have that mod that removes the effects from old arenas but i have the future proof string and universal attire unlock and some ch.pac mods

Mods not crashing my game.

 

EDIT:

In my steam\common folder I have this set up (The blank one being my modded and active WWE 2K16 game)

When the patch was installed, I had - Clean set as the active copy as I was doing something with the original game (No mods installed)

The patch was installed and I launched the game, noticed I was in the wrong version, closed, renamed the game to - clean and put my modded version back and it all works fine.

Maybe CAWS, maybe just random on certain PC settings?  I am re-installing now, and will add the mods back one by one, to see if I can find any that may have caused a crash with the new patch.

Game was crashing for me, too. I have deleted all modded files from ch and evt folder and did verify my game files via Steam. After that game is starting fine so it is definitely a problem with some modded files. I can confirm that modding music with SI is still working fine (Thank god!).

That's not happening. You bought the game assuming they were supporting mods, but they never said they were. You bought the game on knowledge that the game came as is. If a mod didnt work would you go to 2k to help get it working?  No. Same with a refund. Not happening.

The game STILL supports mods. A new official update overwrote the changes mods did. It happens with pretty much any game. Stop this false alarmism please.
