Game Crash on start up thanks to new patch

Since the new patch, the game crashes instantly right after the start up. Any fix for that ?

Happening to a lot of people, myself included. No fix yet.

If you need to play the game a fresh install fixes it. But I'd rather play on PS4 if I can't have mods.

Reporting here too, I had a completely unmodded game and the patch didn't break anything for me, game works better than before.

i have the same problem,so its because of mods? fuck this shit then!!!! i made a huge mistake by buying the game,next time i'm pirating it!!!

same here, the moment I see an update is scheduled (sometimes even executed even though I have updates on "only when starting") I check forums first before installing some things that will break everything

can this game be played in steam offline mode? It's a shame running the .exe directly does still end up in getting the patch (that's what I love about ARK, can run it and play online w/o being forced to patch)

yup, 100% sure mods causing it. My friend never mod a single file, works fine. Same goes for some ppl on my friend list.

I have a modded version and a clean version. I had the clean version set as my current one as I was testing stuff, it installed the patch without me even knowing and everything worked fine, I switched back to my modded version and it also works fine,

Alright, it seems like 2k fucked up with their patch and our mods.

Also had the crash.  The only mods I had installed were the String file and the one that removes the grain from classic arenas, if anyone wants to look into those, to see if anything changed with the patch.
