Ethereal Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) The Wrestling Industry continues to change. The partnerships of companies such as NJPW, ROH, and WWE continues, and their Coalition breathes new interest into the sport of professional wrestling as a whole in the eyes of the public. As the identity of the sport changes, new styles are brought to the forefront. Most prominent of these being "Strong Style". As the industry continues to change face, "Strong Style" is rapidly embraced and chaotically brought to the forefront, causing veterans to begin questioning if they even have a place in Wrestling's future.. Couldn't find a general Universe Thread so I decided to make my on!Featured Promotions: Each promotion has entered into a partnership that allows for the talent to perform on any other promotion's programming as long as they have signed a deal. A talent from any other promotion may not win a brand-specific title unless they sign an exclusive deal with the belt's home promotion or unless they cash in the Interpromotional Money In The Bank Briefcase. Brand-specific titles include World Titles, Intercontinental Titles and Tag Team Titles. Pay-Per-Views may also be brand-specific, although many are to become interpromotional. A talent may not compete on a brand-specific Pay-Per-View unless they sign an exclusive deal or hold the WWE United States Title(one-month excursion) or Intercontinental Titles Main Universe Shows: The first few posts from elsewhere will be transferred into this thread. Ethereal Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Major Pay-Per-View Name and DetailsLeaked On Reddit's SquaredCircle! - Just hours before Wrestlemania, on the Pro-Wrestling oriented SquaredCircle Subreddit, user: "YankeesFan4Ever" claimed to be an insider and revealed to the community in a Discussion Thread all of the victors that would be that night. Strangely his results came true and quickly he was bombarded with questions from the community. Following RAW the night after, the user returned and hinted that the new deal WWE had struck with ROH and NJPW would lead to a MASSIVE angle. He then asked the community to think as to why th upcoming PPV has not been announced as of yet. Quickly fans threw out their predictions until the user once again dropped some information. - The user, would go on to reveal the name and logo for the upcoming PPV that is set to replace Extreme Rules indefinitely. He would also state that this show would indefinitely change the course of the industry. The user would then post this image: - There has been no mention of this from WWE or NJPW officials as of yet, but seeing as this user is a credible source, the WWE Universe may never be the same come the end of April. Ethereal Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) The show kicks off with a loaded promo package, showing the public signing of the contract that confirmed WWE and NJPW's new partnership. The promo briefly covered New Japan's history and WWE's history, then finally focuses on the stars of today that would lead the industry into another Golden Age. We were then greeted to a display of pyro and a pan shot of the massive Tokyo Dome crowd. The American audience was greeted by the trio of announcers for the night: JBL, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler who were set to call the action on the American viewers watching through the WWE Network. They announced the matches set for tonight and then promptly cut to Vince McMahon whom made a ground-breaking announcement, announcing an official re-branding of the WWE as it ushers into a new age of inter-promotional wrestling. He announced that WWE Programming for now on would take on a more realistic and gritty identity as it seeks to lead the charge in the resurgence of the Professional Wrestling Industry. He would also reveal the NJPW-WWE logo that will be used from now on in alignment with this new partnership, which marks the beginning of:The Reality Era First GameAJ Styles vs. Katsuyori Shibata Following several distractions, Katsuyori Shibata chooses Invasion as the stage to settle his differences with the leader of the Bullet Club, AJ Styles. It would seem AJ Styles has some agenda other than his usual gaijin tactics, however Shibata is not concerned with his reasons, as The Wrestler is only concerned with getting his match.Full Details: Pre-Match:AJ Styles entered first to a sea of cheers, however his opponent, Shibata was met with a thunderous roar. AJ took issue to this but focused in on his opponent.Match:The match began fast-paced, with Shibata throwing a barrage of forearms to the point where AJ could not stand anymore. AJ would get his advantage once he hit a Cross-body on Shibata. The two would continue going back and forth, having an outstanding match until Shibata reversed the Styles Clash and hit the GTA/Penalty Kick Combo, then getting the pinfall victory.Post-Match:Shibata celebrated his big win in the opening match of a Tokyo Dome show. He realized that he'd come a long way from his re-debut, and basked the moment as now he may finally become a star as big as those from his era who'd surpassed him in his absence. It was then that a familiar song played..and out walked a familiar face emerged from the stage; Eric Biscoff. The fans were excited to see him back and the announcers made certain to let them viewers know just what this could mean for the future of the company. Biscoff would enter the ring and shakes hands with Shibata, then walking with him to the back. AJ Styles seemed deep into his thoughts as he made his way to the back, through the crowd. Second GameUS Open ChallengeJohn Cena vs. Tomohiro IshiiJohn Cena has long been the United States Champion, seeing as how the WWE is now joined at the hip with NJPW, there's even more of a variety of competitors to challenge him now. He is given a spot on the show for his Open Challenge, and wants to send a message that even if the roster has doubled, he is a fixture in this company."The John Cena US Open Challenge officially starts..right now. IF YOU WANT SOME, COME GET SOME!"Full Details:Pre-Match:John Cena's music hits and the crowd cheers pops for his first appearance in the Tokyo Dome. He comes out, smiling from ear to ear as always and makes his way to the ring.He grabs a microphone, talking about all the great names that have competed in the Tokyo Dome, then stating that tonight, one more name makes it onto that list..and that name is John Cena. "The John Cena US Open Challenge officially starts..right now. IF YOU WANT SOME, COME GET SOME!"Then his music hit..Tomohiro Ishii..the Japanese crowd gasped as Ishii ran to the ring and clotheslined Cena. Cena would recover and kick off the hard-hitting match.Match:Throughout the match, both men showed that they wouldn't go down without a fight. Cena would hit Ishii with a few AA's but Ishii would kick out, even from one that caught Ishii out of mid-air. Ishii would hit several quickly executed Suplex Piledrivers but Cena persevered. .Tomohiro Ishii would end the match by repeating the Suplex Piledriver move and getting a clean pin on Cena to the crowd's surprise. Easily Match of the Year candidate.Post-Match:Ishii becomes the first NJPW star to capture a WWE Championship and the first to ever capture a championship on the opposing brand. Cena would rise and slowly hand his championship over to Ishii and waved to the Japanese crowd. It is speculated that he will be taking time off to film a new reality show, likely not returning until later in the year..or whenever he is needed. Third GameWWE Intercontinental ChampionshipRyback vs. Kevin OwensRyback has been the Intercontinental Champion for quite some time now and the title has never meant less. This noticeable lessening of the title prestige has angered many, most notably, Kevin Owens who simple stated that Ryback is boring and while Japanese wrestlers are bound work to take theirs spots, the WWE doesn't need a champion who will look good as an action figure, but a champion who can actually Fight. Ryback, never wavering from foes, accepted the challenge.Full Details:Pre-Match:Kevin Owens is greeted to a thunderous pop as his tune hits. He slowly emerges from the stage and inches himself to the ring, damning both Japan and its people with each step. He looked as if the Tokyo Dome were the last place he wanted to be. Ryback on the other hand entered to a more silent reaction, but was trying his hardest to get the crowd to make more noise..however, he was not nearly as beloved as Kevin Owens in this arena.Match:The match was the most disappointing of the night. Ryback was clearly off of his game tonight, some blamed it on nerves and others on Ryback simply being a poor worker, his poor skills highlighted when placed on the same cards as great workers. In the end there were a few high spots, all in favor of Kevin Owens, whom picked up a dominant victory with a Pop-Up Powerbomb to begin his reign as Intercontinental Champion.Post-Match:After the match Kevin Owens gloated, saying "This was for your own good."; he laughed at the recovering Ryback who struggled to get to his feet. Owens quickly made it backstage and Ryback stood in up in the ring, his hands on his hips. Then the Japanese crowd chanted his name as he still stood in the middle of the ring, dejected. Ryback then exited the ring, taking off his armbands and other regalia and handing them to children in the front row. He slowly made his way to the stage and turned to the camera, finally stating with a forced smile: "The Big Guy will be back". Soon after, rumors started questioning if Ryback's contract with WWE was set to expire and if they would even bother renewing it. Interlude:In line with NJPW's contract with ROH, ROH may still advertise and have their stars appear on their shows. Luckily for ROH, they were able to have a package shown to display their new ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe..in his natural habitat. ROH hopes that by advertising on the show, they can get new eyes on their product. Fourth GameIWGP Intercontinental ChampionshipShinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota IbushiShinsuke Nakamura and Kota Ibushi were both competitors in the undisputed Match of the Year and after several clashes over the last few weeks, they finally meet for a rematch in which Nakamura's coveted IWGP Intercontinental Championship is on the line. Will the two top their classic, and more importantly may the King of Strong Style be dethroned?Full Details:Pre-Match:Kota Ibushi was first to enter and received a massive pop, as his popularity has sharply increased following the WrestleKingdom 9 match with Nakamura which was 2015's Match of the Year. He came out to a new theme, and quite a new entrance for the show. He was met with a sea of chants, signs and applause from the audience, quite the fan favorite. Shinsuke Nakamura's entrance was on another level, in terms of presentation. He emerged wearing a new attire, and instead of his normal theme came out to an interesting musical choice. By time Nakamura did his pose on the ropes, the crowd was already louder than they had been all night..ready for this co-main event match.Match:The match started off fast-paced as the two did smooth chain wrestling, resulting in a stand-off, which got the crowd's applause. The two would proceed to have a match as thrilling as their clash at Wrestle Kingdom 9.Post-Match:Kota Ibushi can barely stand, being so in shock at his victory over Shinsuke Nakamura who he'd never been able to best in a one on one contest. Everything it seemed came first circle as their feud ended now in the Tokyo Dome, where it truly all started. Ibushi was handed the title by Shinsuke who pulled him in and told him to take good care of the belt while he's gone. He looked to the crowd and gave one final "Yeaoh!" before exiting and hobbling his way backstage through the crowd. This exit seems to confirm the rumors of Shinsuke Nakamura going away to let his body rest, to come back even stronger.Kota Ibushi grabbed the microphone and cut a passionate promo, which he shed tears in which he began to tear up in the latter half. He then thanked the crowd and exited, slapping hands with all of the audience who reached out for him..thus a new fan-favorite is born. Fifth GameIWGP Heavyweight ChampionshipHiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika OkadaThe IWGP Heavyweight Championship has been cancelled as the champion, Hiroshi Tanahashi was in no condition to compete. He suffered an injury, unknown at this time, while staying in the Tokyo Dome hotel. The Match is cancelled and replaced with another bout. Replacement Inter-Promotional GamesBrock Lesnar vs. Chris Jericho Winner: Brock Lesnar IWGP Tag Team ChampionshipRoppongi Vice vs. Masters of the Universe Winner: Masters of the Universe Seventh GameWWE World Heavyweight ChampionshipSeth Rollins vs. Roman ReignsSeth Rollins and Roman Reigns have a history, this past mania Reigns was screwed over by Seth with his MITB cash-in, and even before that destroyed The Shield. This fight in one long in the making and the two who can't help but throwing punches whenever the other is in sight, will have their time..this Sunday.Full Details:Pre-Match:Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are each shown backstage, preparing for their big match. Roman Reigns entered first to a fairly mixed reaction, he was amped up, almost running to the run while bumping fists with the crowd. He got to the ring and roared as he threw up his fists. He waited in the ring, pacing back and forth until Rollins' music hit..but he didn't come out. His music stopped after about a minute of waiting, and then it played again..yet he still did not enter. His music stopped...and The Authority's played. Reigns cursed and rolled his eyes as he knew who was to enter.Triple H accompanied by Seth Rollins cut a promo:Promo/Segment:"Roman..Roman, this is not what it looks like..this is not what you think it is, I didn't come out here to embarrass you, believe it or not. I came out here, to tell you that tonight..tonight just isn't the night the WWE Championship will be defended." *The crowd boos and Roman begins cursing Triple H and threatens exiting the ring to spear him.* "Roman..listen..listen..things have changed Roman..I know we've had our..run-ins in the past..and I know I've criticized you a helluvalot over these past months. But at every turn you proved me wrong. Now, this isn't about what's best for business..this is about what's best for you..what's best for him." *Points to Rollins*, "..And what's best for the future of World Wrestling Entertainment..not New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The WWE needs someone who can rise to the challenge when need be..not be the face of the WWE, but the Shield..of the WWE. And in that regard I had a hard choice to make..I could choose the Rock's cousin.." , "Or a self-made..self-proclaimed architect..who will do anything and everything to make sure that he is forever..the top dog." *He pointed to Rollins.*. "Unfortunately for you Roman..your blood won't get you far in this new climate..and I'd suggest..you get wise to the game and help..or else everyone you see busting their ass in the Performance Center and in NXT..won't be worth a damn..come this time next year. Roman Reigns grabs a microphone, then chucks it at Triple H, hitting him in the head. Triple H touches a fresh bump on his forehead, then angrily tells Reigns that he will be having a match tonight...then he looked back to the stage where the music of Finn Balor hits and the crowd pops. Seth Rollins exits past Finn Balor, while glaring at him, the two have a staredown until Rollins leaves. He quickly makes his way down the ramp, Triple H at his side. Reigns waved Balor into the ring but before he could enter, Balor was knocked over and beat on by one..Hideo Itami. Itami wouldn't let up from Balor until a referee got in between them. Triple H tried to call in for help from the security behind the barricade until Reigns ran in and speared Triple H through it.Reigns poses to close out WWE: Invasion, which although the main event never happened which angered many, sparks much speculation as to the future of the WWE. I've wanted to start doing some videos in alignment with the posts, but so far I've done some recap videos and match card videos. I think this format is better than doing drawn out vdeos because it's much easier to digest so I think I'll be saving the videos for extra content, such as debut matches, sme squash matches with some angles at the end. Perhaps some interviews once I figure out how to manipulate MyCareer better..etc. As for my channel its: Lord Ethereal. There will be much more content added to this thread and the channel soon. 1 Quote

Ethereal Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) this is pretty awesome bro, I will be following. Love the merging of NJPW and WWE, might have to do that in my Universe too lolThanks bruh. Didn't want to have a Universe exclusive for just one, and with all the CAWs we can download this year I figured I might as well have both. You'll probably be seeing many of your creations in here. Merge them in a more interesting way. This is probably the best universe thing I have ever read. It's just fleshed out and was actually interesting. I cannot wait for more, man.Oh, and if Nakamura ever came out to "Scream", I'd lose my shit.Damn, thanks for the high praise. I try to incorporate every aspect of what makes wrestling so interesting today so including some backstage stuff, which is more interesting than what's on scree nowadays seemed like a way to give it more depth. And yeah if I imagined him ever coming out to an MJ song, I feel like it'd be that one. Edited January 9, 2016 by Ethereal Quote
Ethereal Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Interviews, analysis and explanations of what took place on the show. As the Tokyo Dome empties, the wrestlers are approached by backstage personnel to get the scoop! Stay tuned on the WWE Network or NJPWWorld to hear from the victors and the losers. First Game Fallout:We cut backstage to AJ Styles who is packing his stuff to head back to his hotel room. The members of the Bullet Club curse at the interviewer who dared to enter their locker room. The interviewer apologizes for his intrusion but tells him that the fans would like to hear his reaction to Quote AJ Styles Promises to Keep New Japan Safe..Does He Know Something That We Don't?!? "I'm not surprised by anything. I'd seen Eric Biscoff, talking to whole buncha' guys in the NJPW locker room, none gave him the time of day..except..for Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata knows that he has a glass ceiling because he abandoned NJPW before, so why not sell his soul to succeed elsewhere. Shibata doesn't know what he's getting into, Eric Biscoff doesn't just want a good product, he wants another war..and me and my soldiers..we're stayin' out of it." Instead, we have more important things to look forward to..like taking care of New Japan Pro-Wrestling...not fighting unnecessary battles. But if Eric Biscoff even tries to touch New Japan..Bullet Club have something to say about it. Third Game Fallout Ryback is nowhere to be found for a word. Instead the crew catches up with Kevin Owens who is backstage, grinning from ear to ear. Eden Stiles asks Owens on what's going through him mind now that he has won the Intercontinental Title, what was there next on his list of things to do. Kevin Owens said Kevin Owens: "I'll Look For Some More Gold To Wear""Eden, you're making it sound as if this was the ending to some long journey or something. This was only the beginning. I have the Intercontinental Championship but uh..everyone's more worried about where the hell they fit in on the roster to worry about championships right now." "It's almost as if you haven't been keeping up with the news..I mean..you have been backstage all day right? The Brand Split is back..new RAW..don't even think Smackdown will be around with how useless its been. But uh..my spot is secured..so while everyone figures that out..I uh..think I'll find some more gold to wear." Commercial:This year's Wrestlemania has been revealed to be in Texas this year in the AT&T Stadium, and the WWE, now with their re-branding and possibly the help of NJPW, seeks to break the attendance record. Seventh Game FalloutHideo Itami is seen walking backstage having since, calmed down from when he attacked Finn Balor just moments prior, Renee Young managed to squeeze an interview out of him for the viewers on the WWE Network and for WWE's Youtube Channel. QuoteHideo Itami: "Finn Balor and The Authority Want to Keep Strong Style Out of the WWE" Full Interview: Hideo..I understand that you must be going through a range of emotions after what just happened..I think what the fans want to know is..why? Payback... Uh..alright well I guess then the next question would be..for what exactly do you ant Payback? I've known Finn Balor for many years..our paths have never truly crossed. There was no dodging..only a pact that we made, that the both of us would be the ushers of a new generation. One that would revitalize the industry..but he..he does not see me..or anyone who takes pride in Strong Style..in his version of the future. So are you saying that his new possible alignment with The Authority is to make sure that..supers-..wrestlers..such as yourself don't make it anywhere in the WWE? And that is why after Payback, only one of us will be able to call WWE..home. In attacking Finn Balor tonight, you did save Roman Reigns from wrestling against Balor, however you did devoid him of a main event match in the Tokyo Dome, something he'd previously stated was a big deal for him? Was part of your goal to assist Roman Reigns and do you feel any remorse for perhaps..spoiling Reigns' night? Roman Reigns has his own problems, Balor wouldn't have received my message at any better time than then. If Reigns has an issue..well then I will admit I acted too boldly, but of course, I did for good reason. We tried to reach Roman Reigns for his opinion but he quickly exited the arena after the end of the show..but we assure you Roman Reigns and the rest of the WWE roster and a few special guests will be live on Monday Night RAW. Hideo exits and Renee sends the broadcast back to the commentators. Lastly the announcers would let out the official announcement and poster for WWE: Payback, a WWE Exclusive Pay-Per-View that will take place in Rosemont, IL this year. The wrestlers of the WWE are at each other's throats more than ever, most notably, the two former friends, Finn Balor and Hideo Itami. Itami who claims to have been attacked by Balor, has clearly decided to throw away any possibility of reconciliation..and is only concerned with Payback.Theme: Stay tuned for updates, hope you enjoyed. Ethereal Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) YankkeFan4Ever was a cute touch - great topic, dude! Thanks man, really appreciate it. "WWE Network's "Breaking Ground" Follows Recently Signed Bobybuilder and Arnold Schwarzenegger lookalike through Performance Center.""Confirmed Payback Matches!""Ethereal's Youtube and Twitch Accounts Now Functioning!" - Last night's WWE Breaking Ground followed Calum Von Moger, a bodybuilder, who prides himself on capturing the same build that classic bodybuilders had throughout the 60's and 70's. The episode of the show followed him through his journey from getting the call from WWE for a tryout after never stepping foot in a ring or even watching one on TV.After he received the call he moved to Florida and began his training which he quickly adapted to.On the program he is shown making friends with many of the NXT talent except for Baron Corbin who felt like he should have Calum's spot. With Vince McMahon's personal blessing and picking, Calum was chosen to stay briefly in NXT only to work on his "character" until he was moved up to the main roster. Calum, who once resented the constant comparison to Arnold Schwarzenegger, ironically decided to take on the persona of "The Terminator", a character made famous by the Terminator franchise. The episode concluded with Calum wrestling his final match in NXT, losing to fan-favorite Sami Zayn. The NXT crowd which never liked Calum due to his build and lack of personality was glad to see him go, but Calum did not waver, only looking forward to being placed in the center-stage; he did doubt however..if he was ready for it. - WWE Payback's central theme will be in line with its name. WWE on its website, confirmed following Hideo Itami's Interview on Invasion:Fallout, that Hideo Itami and Finn Balor would indeed be facing each other at the Pay-Per-View, and the loser would be forced to leave WWE and find a new promotion to call home, the reason being the company is not big enough for the both of them. -Another match that's been rumored for Payback is Triple H vs Roman Reigns, which would make sense when Invasion's ending is considered. Many believed that this match would be held off until Wrestlemania, but it'd seem that there are much bigger plans for Roman Reigns. In addition, Triple H would only lace up his boots for a high stakes match at this point, saying in a recent interview that he had no reason to wrestle in a ring again unless it was of great importance. It is yet to be confirmed that the match will take place but if it does, one has to wonder what exactly will be on the line..and how the company will be effected in its aftermath. - I have finally changed up some things and have officially launched my Youtube and Twitch Channels and from now will be uploading content on an admittedly haphazard basis. I'm hoping to get a bit of traction and I can see how much I can put into future work to get the Universe more onto Youtube and such. Youtube will primarily be used be highlight videos, recaps of PPVs and some custom video packages and commercials I throw together. Twitch will be used to stream some of the matches on the undercard as well as the minor show. The Twitch Stream will focus in on the lesser talked about section and wrestlers of the Universe, giving them a chance to look good to perhaps be pushed up in the future. The stream as well as Youtube will sometimes have full-length matches . All the main stay will remain here but I want to expand on other things much more. If I get enough of a following on both then I might make a Twitter for the hell of it. Hope you guys enjoy my posts and future content..stayed on the lookout for WWE: Payback! Ethereal Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) "Katsuyori Shibata Makes Monday Night RAW Debut!""More Payback Matches Confirmed!""Closing Segment Of RAW!" Video:- Last night's Monday Night RAW introduced a new set, a new GM in Eric Biscoff and a new hand-picked "face" of RAW in Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata debuted on the eventful RAW episode after having a staredown with Ryback backstage. (Credit to WallsofJericurl over at Smacktalks for the amazing Shibata CAW)Shibata came out, accompanied by Eric Biscoff and would proceed to give Ryback a beating he will not soon forget. It is likely that Shibata will be working a match at Payback..or possibly take part in the show to get involved in a program leading into next month's Pay-Per-View. QuoteKevin Owens vs. Seth RollinsWinner Takes All MatchWWE World Heavyweight ChampionshipWWE Intercontinental Championship- Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins on RAW main evented. Kevin Owens defeated Seth Rollins by countout and due to it still counting as a victory, will be granted a title shot at Payback. Owens has spoken much about wanting to provide the best for his family and by holding the two biggest titles in the company, he'd definitely achieve that. Owens has constantly told Rollins that this was nothing personal but he had a family to take care of. Rollins warned Owens that greed would ultimately leave him bankrupt. Owens seems to be willing to take his chances.Feud: Owens continually taunted Rollins until he wanted a match on RAW, when he was granted the match Owens flipped him off and left, saying he's a prize fighter as he walked back to his locker room. Triple H vs. Roman ReignsWWE Rivalry Match- After being played with for months on end, Roman Reigns had finally put his hands on Triple H at WWE: Invasion. Triple H immediately made this feud personal and decided to step back in the ring to show Roman why he could never survive in the changing industry and why he will forever be known as the Cerebral Assassin. If Reigns can manage to get through Triple H..he may find himself in the title picture..once more.Feud: Triple H beat on Roman Reigns repeatedly, not allowing him to go into any of his matches or come out of any of them without a beatdown. -Debut-"The Terminator" Comes to WWE. - The enraged Hideo Itami had several times over harassed those who got him the least bit mad and has generally had a new attitude ever since returning from his injury caused by Finn Balor. Balor does not deny it but has repeatedly expressed his regret for doing what he did, however he repeats that "the ends justify the means". Finn pleaded with GM Eric Biscoffto have a tag team match with Hideo to maybe rekindle their friendship before something bad happened at Payback, butBiscoff denied him his wish and sent Hideo out in the main event alone to fend off against The Wyatt Family alone. The match predictably got out of hand and The Wyatt Family began to beat down Hideo until Finn Balor came and saved the day.Briefly, Hideo and Finn teamed up to get rid of The Wyatt Family, disposing of them by tossing them from the ring at threatening them that if they got back inside they'd be badly beaten. The Wyatt Family left at the command of Bray Wyatt and left the two to recover from the fight. Hideo rose looking at Finn..who extended his hand for a shake. The crowd popped for the moment but Finn was not amused. After the show he was approached while in his locker room. He stated that for weeks he wanted to mend their friendship to prevent a fight..but now he sees there is no going back with Hideo. He said that he did not want to have to go to "dark places" to take care of his old friend..but he would need to if it meant ensuring that they were the future of the WWE. Tune into Payback this Sunday only on the WWE Network..and Pay-Per-View. Edited January 11, 2016 by Ethereal 1 Quote
Ethereal Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) Quote The Pre-Show panel kicks off with Renee Young, Byron Saxton, Booker T and Paul Heyman, filling in for Corey Graves. The table was fairly talkative, all except for Paul Heyman who was legitimately heated due to Smackdown! being routinely unmentioned on RAW and all of his roster being left off of the Payback card. As the panel wrapped up, Heyman took off his microphone and walked off just as the team finished. Immediately, Social Media began buzzing about this incident. The show then kicked off and the commentators JBL, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler had a quick chat, running down the matches for the night. Before they could even finish..the lights went down...and then he emerged. First Match:The Terminator vs. Big ShowDebut MatchAfter a deep look intro his stay at the Performance Center on WWE Network's Breaking Ground, bodybuilder Calum Von Moger, now under the name "The Terminator" looks to make an extraordinary first impression by disposing of the Big Show, a giant that has for long reigned as WWE's Resident Giant.Full Details:Pre-Match:The camera cuts from the announcers to the stage, where flame shot up and out from it emerged...The Terminator. His made an over-the-top entrance paired with the theme from Terminator 2. There was no pop or reaction, but received a faint "Arnold!" chant onc his music stopped. The Big Show entered to a sea of boos as he lazily made his way to the ring, before he could lean against the ropes and do his signature pose..The Terminator tired of waiting and struck... Match:To everyone's shock, The Terminator performed quite well. The big spot of the match was when The Terminator kicked out of Big Show's W.M.D. at one...and also when The Terminator managed to vertically lift Big Show and bring him down for the pin. The match was about seven minutes in length, much of it, in favor of the new star, The Terminator. Post-Match:After the match The Terminator did not feel that he was finished..picking up the Big Show and leading him over to the Announce Table. Despite the referees surrounding him and trying to stop him, The Terminator. The Terminator choked Big Show and very cheesily told Big Show that he was terminated before lifting him and shoving him through the Spanish Announce Table. The crowd responded positively. Immediately the phrase began trending on Twitter..and surprisingly his debut was positively received. When Tom Phillips attempted to interview The Terminator backstage, The Terminator simply stared at him and robotically walked off..this is the persona he was going with. Backstage Segment: Roman Reigns is shown putting on his gear when in walks Seth Rollins wearing a new white version of his usual outfit; the WWE World Heavyweight Championship proudly tossed over his chest. The two have a star down until Rollins smirks and breaks the tension. "You know uh..we never got a chance to talk after what happened at the Tokyo Dome. Just want to let you know that I didn't have anything to do with what went down..if it were up to me I would've came out and weeda' outshined Nakamura and Ibushi..but Triple H..he's..he's paranoid..says he NEEDS me to hang to this. And I-" Roman Reigns cuts him off:"I don't care what Triple H says, the fact is, you followed his orders. How the hell do you call yourself the Architect when you can't even think for yourself..let alone DO..things yourself." Rollins:"Save it; you're not that nai things have changed. The WWE has changed, your mentality it-it's outdated. Don't get stuck in the old ways of doing things..even if I hate every fiber of your being..I still don't want to see you get lost in the shuffle. We're still brothers." Roman:"Got a brother..and it ain't you.."Rollins sighs and walks off..leaving Reigns to finish his gearing up.. Fourth Match:Rivalry MatchTriple H vs. Roman Reigns- After being played with for months on end, Roman Reigns had finally put his hands on Triple H at WWE: Invasion. Triple H immediately made this feud personal and decided to step back in the ring to show Roman why he could never survive in the changing industry and why he will forever be known as the Cerebral Assassin. If Reigns can manage to get through Triple H..he may find himself in the title picture..once more.Full Details:Pre-Match:A split-screen of Triple H and Roman Reigns is shown as they prepare to come out for their high-stakes match. Triple H is the first to enter, and comes out in an intimidating attire, sporting a long red cape and a menacing golden skull mask that extended into a crown. After doing his entrance he got into the ring and paced, waiting some time before finally, Roman's music hit. Roman was loudly cheered and almost ran to the ring, anxious to lay a beatdown on Triple H. However he got into his corner and waited for the bell to ring, after which they went at it. Match:The two then proceeded to have a spectacle..going back and forth, with some amazing spots..After numerous near-falls and some dangerous moves, the match finally came to an end when Triple H ate a vicious Spear from Roman Reigns. Post-Match:After the match Triple H and Roman Reigns exchanged some heated words and Reigns invited Triple H back into the ring for more. Triple H then yelled to Roman that he'll have his way and that he was no longer going to try and protect him and the rest of the WWE because they've been so ungrateful. Reigns responded saying that he'll go through to hell to make sure Triple H stayed true to his word.He ranted that none of them understand that he's the good guy here..and left. Reigns laughed and celebrated with the crowd..finally he'd won the war. Fifth Match:Winner Takes All MatchKevin Owens vs. Seth RollinsKevin Owens and Seth Rollins on RAW main evented. Owens seems to be willing to take his chances.Full Details: Pre-Match:The two competitors were shown backstage before they each walked out, a brooding song playing and leading up to their entrance..Kevin Owens came out first to a thunderous pop from the crowd. He had been gaining much popularity as of late due to his unique character and superb wrestling, not to mention his big win at Invasion which easily made him a possible future main eventer. Owens played to the crowd, laughing and holding up his belt. He waited until Rollins came out who was booed and met with numerous demeaning chants. Rollins was in quite the mood as he entered the ring, quite serious as compared to his recent appearances.Match:Instead of resorting to a strict wrestling match, the two immediately went outside of the ring, grabbed weapons and proceeded to lay a beatdown on each other. The two had a kickass match until Owens did a springboard senton knocking both men down which spawned a "This is Wrestling" chant. The bout was something akin to a match from ROH, which was briefly chanted by a smark section of the crowd. The chant continued as the men struggled to get up, and then Triple H's music hit, and despite his injury, he ran out to get this match over with.Triple H got up on the ropes and began yelling at the referee until out of nowhere..Roman Reigns ran in and Speared Triple H yet another time tonight and caused them to both drop to the floor. Roman then beat on Triple H, leading him to the back. Seth Rollins pulled on the ropes to get himself up, yelling at Roman and Triple H as they fought to the back and turned around into a Pop-Up Powerbomb.Post-Match:The crowd leapt to their feet and to their shock and glee..Kevin Owens got the pinfall..resulting in the loudest pop of the night. Immediately Owens got up and celebrated wildly as he won the titles, leaping out of the ring to hug his family that was in attendance.Rollins was seen stumbling to the back, a shocked expression on his face..he knew this would have dire consequences. Backstage Segment: Finn Balor is seen sitting, not moving, deep into his thoughts when Neville appears, having just wrestled in a throwaway intermission match, winning against Santino. Finn looks up at Neville who immediately asks him: "Why?" Finn didn't move, he simply spoke without even looking at Neville:"Because of guys like you..that's why. Ya' just come back from wrestling in a match that no one cared for...just like Breeze..just like me if I was to wait my turn to be called up. I won't sit here and monologue..but one day..maybe you'll understand why I did the things that I did... Finn gets up and looks at his signature Demon Headdress:"But that's only if HE fails tonight.." He grabs his Headdress, patted Neville and walked out. The Main EventPaybackHideo Itami vs. Finn BalorHideo Itami and Finn Balor have long been allies, their friendship dating back to their time in Japan. Hideo Itami had been out due an injury suffered by someone who'd attacked him in the parking lot of Full Sail before NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. Hideo Itami returned at WWE: Invasion and prevented Finn Balor from taking on Roman Reigns to become the new #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and when asked, blamed Finn Balor for his injury and the months it took off of his career. When asked why Finn Balor would attack him, he claimed that Finn Balor wants to prevent he and others from bringing Strong Style to the WWE and the United States. Hideo in an interview prior to the match stated that he believed that it wasn't Finn himself as much as it was Balor who attacked him that day..revealing for the first time that he believed the two to be separate entities. While Finn Balor has neither confirmed or denied this claim..or that he even attacked Hideo, he is willing to hash out his differences with his old friend in the ring...and has went deep into his psyche to pull out a force that he says will ensure his victory.Full Details: Pre-Match:The crowd already began to chant..having waited all night for this climax to a popular feud. The crowd began a duel chant for Hideo and Balor. The crowd was electric and once Hideo's music hit...they lost it. They leapt to their feet and jumped up and down as Hideo nearly ran to the ring, and began pulling on the ropes as he anxiously awaited his opponent. He yelled to the crowd and began pacing as he waited. The crowd then entirely started chanting for Hideo until the lights went down..and then came the heartbeat..Demon Balor entered to a thunderous applause at his entrance and once he got in the ring and sat in the corner across from Hideo..the crowd already chanted: "This is Awesome."Match:The match started and the two were at it, throwing EVERYTHING they had at each other. It was already beginning to be considered Match of the Night until the two got out of control which resulted in the referee being knocked out..then it all turned to chaos. Once the referee went down, the crowd all stood up and turned their heads to see both Neville and Tyler Breeze gunning for the ring. Once they got up on the apron, Hideo thought they were on his side until they both shook their heads; immediately Hideo knocked off Neville but Tyler Breeze managed to yank him out of the ring and proceeded to knock him out cold by crushing his head into the ring post. The Demon dared not get involved. Quickly they were booed, ruining the great match, they picked him up again, ready to attack, but out from the entranceway came Sami Zayn, returning from his injury, and concerned with this scene which he felt, being one of the NXT stars, innately involved him. He was quick to dispose of Tyler Breeze and leapt to knock down Neville.Once this was done, out came Kevin Owens, the big winner of the night..who ran to Sami Zayn and with no real reason began to beat on him. He took Sami over to the Spanish Announce Table, but looked at Michael Cole and decided to put him through the American one instead. He picked him up and put him smoothly down through the Announce Table and calmly walked back to the locker room. After all of this...everyone except for Finn Balor was grounded, he was about to go find Hideo's body, but the lights went down. After a few moments of a strange song playing..out came a man..familiar to Balor whom he was shocked to see...Minoru Suzuki. Immediately Suzuki attacked Balor and after a long exchange, managed to put the Demon on the top turnbuckle and performed a Superplex to the outside of the ring; then, much like Owens, leaving calmly without saying a word. Demon Balor, now vulnerable stumbles to his feet and back into the ring, and Hideo who recently awoke, crawls in the ring and continues the match. Hideo gets his combination of strikes of Balor before picking him up and hitting the GTS to a massive pop from the crowd. He get the pinfall victory leading to a mixed reaction, mostly negative, to the unclean victory, which Hideo was completely unaware of. Post-Match:After the match, Hideo looked down on the Demon and bowed his head to the surprise of the crowd..which got a lot of cheers. He exited and left the Demon Balor to get up on his own and look around the arena as the crowd cheered for him. Balor slowly walked up to the stage, turned around and dramatically hung his head and walked off..saddened that this could very well have been his last match in a WWE ring, Next Pay-Per-View:With the prestige of WWE's Championships skyrocketing due to the great matches put on as of late, the stars of both WWE..and NJPW look to get their hands around the valuable titles and contracts put on the line at this year's Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View. Ethereal Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 "Paul Heyman Quits WWE!""NJPW and WWE Talents Jumping Ship!""NJPW Gets Weekly Show on Spike TV, Smackdown to stay on Syfy!""YankeesFan4Ever Leaks New Information..New Pay-Per-View?" - Just after Paul Heyman stormed out on the Payback Pre-Show, insiders report that he marched in Vince McMahon's office and proceeded to quit, and handed the reigns of Smackdown! back to Vince McMahon. Paul was said to be furious that all attempts to have any Smackdown! matches on the Pay-Per-View were declined and refused to repeat the past with Smackdown! and ECW. Paul Heyman is now heavily rumored to have signed with NJPW and is said to become the booker alongside Gedo, of the new weekly show that will be airing on Spike TV. It's now said that Smackdown will continue to be a minor show. - Just after WWE Payback, it is said that several NJPW stars approached Gedo and told gave their notice. Dave Meltzer would confirm on his radio show that the names included Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows and surprisingly Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles..the four will still be appearing on NJPW's first airing of their new Spike TV show: which will have nothing to do with the original purpose of NEVER. The NEVER airing will likely be the final appearance of each wrestler in NJPW as they make their way to WWE..it's still unclear when they will make their debuts. It's also expected that this show will feature the debut of many recently departed WWE talent. Also, just as NJPW stars depart the promotion, so has several WWE stars following the result of WWE: Payback. Names including Neville, Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and Finn Balor. Finn Balor had been teasing after his big loss to Hideo Itami that the Demon might find itself back in Japan. Seeing as how Balor might return on the NEVER premiere, there is a chance we may see some interaction between him and his former allies..Bullet Club. - "YankeesFan4Ever" has also leaked this week that Ring of Honor will likely be included on the Money In The Bank card, not in a match of their own, but in a match alongside both WWE and NJPW wrestlers. The match is surprisingly rumored to be the Money In The Bank match itself, which would have two wrestlers from each promotion in the match, making it a big Inter-Promotional Match. "YankeesFan4Ever" also teased a future Pay-Per-View, again in yet another lengthy Reddit Post leaking the Pay-Per-View Logo:The design and name of the logo implies much..but nothing has been announced yet other than the insider's cryptic warning that "The Takeover Begins.."
