WCW Women's Championship ('96-97)

The only picture I've ever seen of this belt is the one on Wikipedia.  The sideplates were too low quality, so I used in-game logos for those.

 

 

WCW Television Championship 1992-1995

I love this design.  The WCW TV Championship was held by a great many legends, including Booker T, Ric Flair, Sting, Ricky Steamboat, etc., so I didn't think it was fair that it keeps getting the shaft from 2K. I doubt this particular design would make it into a game anyway. Without further adieu... (Update: I have corrected the red color on the sideplates to a darker shade of red that matches the center plate.  As seen in the new screenshot.)
 

 

The REAL nWo Championship Belt

I'm sure you've all seen the in-game nWo championship belt. It's based on a "replica" toy belt produced by WWE, but the replica is not very accurate to begin with. The belt never looked like that. It looks plastic and fake. So, I decided to seek out a visual aid. The historic night that Hollywood Hogan spraypainted the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt at Road Wild 1996. I came up with this. The spraypaint looks a little gray due to the lighting, but I'm pretty proud of it. Ignore Luger's name. I don't have a Hollywood Hogan, and I needed to test it during an entrance.  Remember when Michael Buffer used to say "the W-C-W, nWoooo, heavyweight! championship, of the world!"?  Well, in that tradition, I made the announcer name for this belt the "WCW nWo World Heavyweight Championship".
 

 

WCW Television Championship 1995-2001

I kept the plates the same.  Only changed the wCw lettering to proper WCW logos.  I had a rougher time trying to get the design to fit on the center plate than on most belts.  Personally, I always hated this design.  So plain.  So ugly.  But it's iconic because it was around during wrestling's peak.  Again, the WCW TV Title is no slouch in regards to prestige (barring what Russo did to it).
 

 

WCW World Heavyweight Championship (the Big Gold)

I wanted the same belt worn by Goldberg in 1998, The Giant in 1996, etc. I've done my research, and there is definitely a noticeable difference between the WCW and WWE WHC. Maybe not to the naked eye, but when you compare them side by side, it's very noticeable.

 

 

 

WCW Custom

I redid my custom belt too. It's far more subtle now.  It's almost the same as the real belt.  I just took the "WCW World Champion" plate from the early 90s Vader/Sting/Ron Simmons world title belt and added it to the strap. You can't see any difference on the CC, though.

I'm thinking about using this center plate since it's more WCW-style than the WWE belt that I edited to make mine.  It's hard to find good pictures to use for belts.

 

I might import it into the game and compare them, see if it looks any better.  Main problem is that it's a small image and I have to double the size to get to 512.

Haha, WCW is my #1.  When I first started watching wrestling, it was WCW in early 1994.  Been a fan ever since.  I don't remember much pre-nWo without YouTube, since I really young at the time, but Sting was my dude.

 

Anyway, I've been looking at 4 or 5 different replacement center plates for my WCW Big Gold, and honestly, my choice surprised me, but when I saw it in Hulk Hogan's hands (and he referee's), I knew, THAT is the real deal WCW World Heavyweight Championship.  More on that tomorrow.  Also, I took those in-game screenshots.  I didn't realize it, but the Big Gold that I uploaded looks horrible in the pre-match thing.  Looks awesome during Sting 99's entrance though.  I suppose I should adjust the sideplate colors of the WCW women's belt eventually, but the screenshots won't reflect that.

yeah i first started watching with my cousin around 92 after my dad dide. i was 12 at the time. the fact that sting and bossman were on the top turnbuckle then schiavonne mentions the tape machines were rolling and we'll see you next week kinda killed it for me lol. then around 95 i started watching again and had been a fan ever since.  Yeah your stuff is great. i've been recreating/redoing wcw from the 95 era since maybe SVR07. only when wwe12 came out with CAA did it become a reality. and now with your belts i can really do something. (once i get Harlem heat that is lol)

nice tweaks to that hogan, do you have the logos u used for that hogan on cc? i mean i can do it myself but i was just wondering and i agree belt looks great lol. I still remember that PPV. when Sherri got up on the turnbuckle and missed that dive, then she threw her shoe to flair and hogan still kicked out and Heenan is like "DAMMIT!" lol that was the funniest moment i ever experienced at that time

I tried, but the game is very picky and random about which logos it will let me upload to CC.  Some kind of glitch I guess.  The Hulkster logos could use a bit of cleaning up, I think.  I was a little sloppy with my erasing.  Bandanna logo is fine though, I think.

Yeah, the only problem with Lilian Garcia's announcing in this game is that it sounds like everything is spaced out too much.  So it sounds like "This match is for the WCW...  Television...  Championship."

Yeah I noticed that too. Btw, why did you do the TV title as I noticed it's already in the game. Still nice work though. Tried to find the old school arena again, but still couldn't find it. used the Saturday night arena instead and I love it. Thank you.

Well, this forum's issues with imgur seem to be permanent for some reason.  Onward!  I'm trying a new host for this post.

7. WCW Women's Championship (Custom)
Inspired by the lovely new white and red WWE Women's Championship belt, I felt like getting back into create-a-championship.  But I could figure out how to color the background red for that particular belt, so... it doesn't matter because other people took care of that.  But!  I realized that the only photos online of the '96-97 WCW Women's Championship are blurry and low quality.  So I decided to try my hand at designing a brand new custom belt.  I tried to keep it as realistic as possible, while also adding my own personal spin on it.  I borrowed some elements from other WCW belts.  The belt was clipping through Madusa's stomach horribly during her entrance (I had a similar issue with Ultimo Dragon and the TV Title belt), so I used Nattie instead.

This belt comes with a nameplate, but of course it can easily be removed.

I decided to re-do the side plates on the Custom WCW Women's Championship and reuploaded.

 

And I've got what I believe are better plates for the WCW WHC.  We'll see...

The WCW World Heavyweight Championship took a lot of trial and error to get the colors, quality, and other details just right. I found some beautiful pics of a replica belt, high quality, high resolution, full of detail... but when I got it into the game, it looked pale and white. It was like a cream color. I kept darkening the pics over and over again. It would look really dark on my computer, but then I'd get into the game, and it looked too bright, like rose gold or something.

I finally ended up with the result in the OP. I believe I've finally perfected this belt. Or at least, as much as reasonable in the game. I decided against the nameplate because of the color, and the fact that the real WCW championship belt is larger than the WWE Big Gold, and therefore the nameplate doesn't fit, even in the game. I will look into adding the nameplate in 2K17, but I'm at the point where now I'm uploading my final edits for 2K16.

looks good although i thought that the only difference between original big gold and wwe's whc was that the WWE cersion didn't have the rubys and the strap color was red instead of black. either way this looks good. i still have the other  one you uploaded. and the nWo ones lol
