Okay so I'm quite happy that I have my save files backed up but the only bad part about it is I replace my modded files with the backups and I still keep getting the same message; 2K14 Game Save Data Corrupt. Please quit game and reinstall. I'm not sure what this is spanning from and I can't find Kim's EBOOT to attempt to boot with that.

To go more into depth I've been modding an Arena and after editing and injecting all of the Textures and then the Uncompressed ZLIB into the PACH and then the PACH into the BG##.pac I updated my arcs (and tried with Defs) replaced them in the Games Folder Dev/HDD/Games/BLUS/USDIR with the pac going in the BGPac Folder and deleting the f.dat I got it to load but was on a wrong profile, so I switched went to load up and now it's corrupt on all profiles and wont load.

So I really as you can tell need some help because I have the complete unedited save, saved it just still reads as corrupt and will NOT Load so I'm not sure what caused this I'm not sure if I updated the arcs wrong and I'm afraid now it just wont load...ever.

Any help is appreciated as this is the first time I tried to replace anything on the game.

Coz this is PS3 Im a little out of my league but just a few questions first :

1) Did you update the arc manually with a Hex Editor or did you use Xpacker?

2) You mentioned "Tried with Defs" what does that mean?

Ok, is your game data corrupt or your Save game data ? It sounds like your game data is corrupt. And if i understand right, it worked one time. The PS3 acts really sneaky, if you replace a file in the "game" folder the game will start (but only one time) and delete the replaced file. The next time, you try to start the game, you get the game data corrupt  error. So be carefully and never replace a file in the "game" folder (except dlc and arc/def files).

Replace the files in the "GAMES" folder and rename them (or the game won't care) and rename them also in the .def file.

Ok, so I updated Manually with a Hex Editor with the size X-Packer gave me.

As far as the replacing goes I overwrite the files in the game folder with the Updated ones. Then when I went to load up the Game Data was corrupt. The files stayed after the first load they just got corrupt after switching profiles. Now I'm trying to replace the corrupt game data with the unedited back up files but it doesn't load. Should I just delete the folder and then Copy the Back up back to the HDD then try to replace the BG##.pac and arcs again?

As far as the def files go do I change the BG##.pac to just ##.pac like in Andy's Tutorial? Also do you change the BG##.pac's name to just ##.pac in the BG Folder?

delete the game data (NOT save game data) and reinstall it, simply by starting the game.

Okay so with the initial problem now out of the way, (just reinstalled it via startup and it's Loading fine now) the question, however is what went wrong? Here's what I did:

  • Extracted the Pach from the pac file
  • Extracted Textures from Uncompressed PACH
  • Edited Textures
  • Manually Resized in Hex Editor by Padding out with 0's to match the size of the original textures
  • Injected my Textures into 190 and the textures I edited from 192 (Announce Table)
  • Injected PACH into pac
  • Took note of the new size in X-Packer and manually Updated both Arcs in HexEditor
  • Overwrite BG##.pac in the BG Folder
  • Overwrite Arcs
  • Edited the Def Files to make BG##.pac just ##.pac
  • Loaded Up the Game and got a Corrupt Message.

So out of all of my steps what didn't I do right or what did I skip? Was I supposed to rename the actual BG##.pac to ##.pac? If so do I keep the original BG##.pac? Are the Arcs or pac to large to load? Sorry just need to know so I don't corrupt it again.

Okay, okay so I think I might know what happened, but please tell me if I'm wrong;

I replaced the Arcs, Defs AND Pac File in the Game folder instead of the Games/Gamez Folder. Would that have caused the problem? and also when replacing or importing an arena do you remove the BG from the ##.pac like for when importing a Ch##.pac? Also the only things you replace in the Game folder are the Arc and Defs right? Finally when updating the Arcs does X-Packer do it correctly, or do you still have to use a HexEditor to manually edit it?

Again sorry for all the questions just need to make sure I fully understand. Thanks for any and all help.

Okay so I assumed that due to no answers I was right and made a stupid mistake so I replaced everything in the Games Folder and only the arcs/defs in the Game folder and it loaded! But then I went to play a Match in my edited Arena and it got stuck on the loading screen. I wasn't sure if it just needed more time to load due to the edited arena being quite larger than the original BG##.pac size, but I thought that's what the Arc updates were for. Anyway now I'm kind of stuck again and was wondering if anyone else ran into a problem like this or if I was just being impatient.....

Guys I'm honestly at a loss here...after doing a little searching I saw RollingRocky ran into a similar problem in which Andy/Anabolica gave him some answers I thought would help me. #1, you keep the original pac as well as the edited one without the ch in front of it and you can update straight from X-Packer. I just substituted the ch for the bg and followed Andy's tutorial to a tee but yet again all I get is a continuous load when trying to load into the arena before entrances. So what am I missing? You inject your edited Arena textures into the extracted 190/192.zlib and the zlib into the PACH then the PACH into the Pac then update your Arcs then edit your Defs right? BD on and Intern from Multi-man to run it right? What am I doing wrong? Is the Arena size to large?....

Really confused here guys, any and all help is appreciated.

Are you compress and injecting 190 or just injecting? I have had problems with infinite loading if i try to inject the 190 uncompressed.

Yep the only thing I don't compress when injecting is the PACH into the pac...:(
