Anyway to use save editor on retail console without a USB drive?

Bit of a spinoff thread from my write protection thread. The helpful people over at that thread were giving tips how to use the 2K14 save editor while getting around the write protection program that occurs when you use USB drives. They recommended using file transfer protocols and one in particular was the 360 content manager. Everything sounded good at first, however after some discussions via private message, I found out this technique only applies to jtag/rgh modded X-box 360 consoles, and unfortunately I own a retail console.

So this leads to a basic question I have. Is there another way to use the WWE 2K14 save editor on a retail 360 console without the use of USB drives? Because a USB drive will become unusable once the write protection kicks in and from what people are saying, that's irreversible. Any ideas for solutions will be much appreciate.

I'm sorry this was an accidental post.

The only other way is if you have the detachable HD and this cord:

Idk what you mean exactly about "write protection". Just have your Xbox format a USB. You can get a 2G at a drugstore for like $4-5.

OK. Thats weird. I just read your other topic. Yea, FTP is for Jtag/RGH systems.

You can find that cord I suggested on Ebay. (I took the liberty of finding one for you) Here is one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hard-Drive-HD-Data-Transfer-Cord-Cable-Kit-Link-for-Xbox360-HDD-USB-Connector-E1-/221886468840?hash=item33a976d2e8:g:gqwAAOSwQTVV989a

Sorry to hear that happen to you man. Good luck.

With that cord you hook your detachable HD to it and it to the PC. It was what I was using before I got a Jtag.

Added info about the cord.

Good to know we were using that cord before you got your modded console. Out of curiosity, is that cord still working for you and did any problems occur when using it?

Thanks for the help man. Though I'll probably first phone my nearest electronics stores because they're within biking distance from my house, so it will save me time. Thanks again.

I haven't used it since I got a Jtag. Which was about 2 years ago. But no, never had any huge issues. Horizon reads your HD when it its open and its attached that way. Easy-pezzy.

Hey dude I can't get a hold of my local stores, and might try online. However there's one thing I'm noticing that I'm wondering if you can answer for me.

That link to the cord you provided me with says "may not ship to Canada". I'm from Canada, so I was searching for other providers of the same cord. I then noticed numerous cords ending with a different connector number like Connector O, Connector GU, Connector S, Connector F5, etc. Here's the link if you're wondering what I'm talking about ebay links. (just scroll down until you see the numerous links to the same product) The cord on your link says Connector E1. Do you know if this affects connection in anyway or is it more of a serial number type deal? Just want to make sure I don't buy a product that doesn't have the proper connection to my system. Thanks for all the help and if you know the answer to this question.

Yea it looks the same. I don't see any difference. I am not sure if mine is one of those type either. But I dont see Micro$oft creating different hard drives for regions etc.

Yeah man, well I just came back from a 5 week long family vacation. Glad to be back home. I finally been able to use the hard drive, but unfortunately Micro$oft had the oh so smart idea to radically alter hard drive designs. I should've check my hard drive before purchasing, but the one I have is the model 1451 250 gb version where the components are inwards instead of outwards. Problem here is as you can also see, the transfer cable's components are also inwards instead of outwards, and obviously the two can't connect is both are inwards.

Since you've been so helpful, do you know how does the transfer cable look like for a Xbox 360 slim with a model 1451 250 gb look like so I don't end up buying the wrong thing (again)? I'll see if the dealer also has that model transfer cable so I can hopeful do an exchange.
