@tekken57

currently i am working on my yokozuna mod and i have some problems with the tights & the belt (both are caw parts from PS3). In Blender it looks fine and the belt is on the right position, but not in the game.

the pac files would be on disk not in the save, is this your issue?

Thank you I've seen no where else where this is explained so yes that is my issue, I have no idea how to get them off the disc if you can as well.

You need to have a jailbroken PS3 and you need to have the iso of the game on your ps3 installed. You can't add superstars to the save itself or to the disc.

Looks like I'm getting the PC Version then.

What about a BluRay DVD Drive? Would that not work, or have Sony added some sort of protection against viewing the contents on a game disc?

yes, they have a protection. You can only rip the files with a jailbroken PS3.

The rigging system on the ps3/360 is different from the waist down. This is the reason why the objects don't appear correctly. There is nothing which can be done about this.

I haven't looked at the 360 version in a long time. the issues with the arc prevented my from going any further.

Are you going to make this work with PACPLUS?

Hey Tekken. A few pages back you were giving advice on how to change the textures in Superstar Threads/CAW parts. I am trying to edit the texture on a pair of Christian's tights with ones I have extracted from one of my CAWs. I've got as far as extracting the DDS files with Dragon UnPACKer. The part that stumped me in your response was when you said that you have to make a note of the offsets of each DDS file and copy them back into the pac in HxD. I'm assuming that simply overwriting the extracted file with a new texture is not enough? So how are we telling the game that this particular texture goes in this particular place? I opened the pac in HxD and I can see where 'A...tights' and 'A....tights.ao' etc are, just not sure how to connect the two.

Yes, working on coding the changes at the moment.

I was referring to actually changing the textures in the pac file for the caw part. When you extract the original dds file, you need to open the dds file in a hex editor and do a search for the it in the pac you extracted by copying a few bytes at the beginning of the dds file. When you locate the offset, you can then paste your new dds file over this in a hex editor.

So rather than telling the CAW part which texture it should have, we're telling the textures which CAW parts they belong to? I will experiment tonight. Thank you :)

Awesome dude, appreciate it. It's the best software to use in my eyes, so I will wait until then to inject all these new ones.

Hey Tekken, just one quick other question as I unpack all these tights textures... I know you said that the model format for the CAW parts is different to the characters and as such they couldn't be injected into a PAC, but is there a way to still get the CAW part model into 3Ds Max for reference purposes? Thanks.

@tekken57

I believe I have found an error with X-Packer. I am trying to edit the Universe show logos (pac/menu/assets/wwe16_singleread/texture/ppv_logo/ltag_ppv_logo), but I keep ending up with crashes in game.

I believe it may be related to the fact that when opened as a pac with directories XP doesn't see the last two pach files (E83C1C5A and F8BDFE14). I can see these two additional pachs when looking at the file with PACTool. It also makes sense because when I had extracted everything with XP two textures that should have been present were not.

I'm kind of stuck with how to edit this as it keeps crashing the game. I presume that the failure to see the final two pach files may be effecting the offsets.

It would be great if you knew a way to fix this.

Thanks.

I'll take a look at the file and see what the issue is. X-Packer reads the header of the file and determines the number of files in the pac from this information. Maybe the format is different in this pac? Lets see.....

Thanks. Hopefully you can find a fix. This file has really thrown a snag into what I'm working on.

PS: Happy Birthday! :)
