Usually I play on legend difficulty, but I have won only 1 out of 6 on Universe mode on Hard as of right now. I'm very bad when it comes to this new pin system. But I love the gameplay this year, and it's definitely not boring as I'm not winning every game anymore. I'm having a good time.

 

Though sometimes I find myself tapping to the new submission system 3 minutes in the match.

So in general. Should i be getting this game? I was a frequent contributer on the other site  up until wwe 13. Didnt get into last years game at all. I still have tonight (nz time) to pre order on psn and get all the bonus stuff.

You should if you want Terminator. Otherwise you probably can get him later on in the year on the psn store.

The Game is very good the Match pace is a nice touch. But the only thing that pisses me off is the slow regen time of the counter slots in online.

The Problem is, if i wasted all my counter slots they automatically are starting to spam running moves

Thats really annoying

I've had so many great matches already, compared to 2k15, this game is off the planet.

There are tons of bugs though, if 2k can sort those and fix universe, then the game is there!

Got the game 2 days before release (Europe) after jumping from ps3 to ps4 without playing wwe2k15

played 3 games of hideo vs owens so far, the pace is superb..moves looks crisp..

 

strugling with the controls but hopefully not for long

Hmmm... brought off the PSNstore.. release here is supposed to be 29th in stores. Turns out its not the case for the PSNstore. Dumb. Wanna have a play with this face import stuff..

Gameplay is alright, character creation is good only for those who won't use custom logos & all the hassle. Graphics took a big fucking hit, the resolution is all over the place especially in six man matches. In one on one matches it dips from 1080 to 900. It gets really bad tho, it's literally 720p in six man matches, doesn't even jump back to 1080p, it's basically 720p. Cloth texture gets really low also. My guess, optimization of course, but Jesus fucking Christ man they'll sacrifice anything to maintain the 60 frame rate. It's a solid 60 alright but the amount of sacrifice in graphics is huge.  Ps4 btw

edit: it may sound weird that resolution dips in a video game & that's because it is weird. It is usually the frame rate, but instead for some reason they keep the 60 frame rate & a dynamic resolution solution was the alternative. Being that it is not a combat game & more of a simulation game gets me even more confused as to why they're prioritizing frame rate over almost everything else when it comes to optimization.

Played the PS3 version earlier today.

Took ridiculously long to initially load up & install on my cfw. It was like 5 minutes of a black screen befote the game began installing.

Graphics look slightly better on some models.

Austin showcase was nice but I noticed it was just short 2 minute bursts of gameplay in-between cinimatics. Theres a surprising number of unlockables that are unlocked solely through trophy-like accomplishments that are outside of the showcase objectives.

They removed the option to have 2 managers (ala in 2k15 last year you could have the wyatt family with bray as managers)

Custom music only works for caws & teams

Only 7 unique entrances that dont belong to superstars

Mark Henry NOD is not in his NOD attire 

Shamrock's primary is his street attire

Paul Wight only has his ring attire

Brian Pillman has his loose cannon attire (although his entrance music for flyin bryan is stunning steve austin's music, it may be because I havent unlocked everything yet)

Mankind's ref attire was weird(brown wrestling tights with white gym shoes)

The Rock from Royal Rumble & WMX7 has his 2002 short hair, & WMX7 is basically in his WMX8 attire 

Triple H has two attires for wm14 one he wore vs owen & the T-Shirt attire we saw in the raise hell trailer.

DX has a new entrance that's based on their 97-98 iteration, the 2006 & glowstick versions aren't there.

Warrior has all of his path of the warrior attires from last year

Cena only has one attire surprisingly 

We get the two ministry taker attires but neither of them have his entrance attire.

I honestly dont see the point between current sting & crow sting. They could of just added a additional attire and called it a day.

Savage's lack of entrance attire confused me

Flair has his old wwf theme music to his 2003/04 model

 

Overall a pretty good game.  As I said earlier I havent unlocked everything yet, I did finish all of the showcase matches.

Mod in Hogan, Road Dogg & Goldberg & its close to flawless. With the lack of custom music on regular superstars I'm probably gonna replace a lot of the NXT & Jobbers with missing wrestlers.

That gives me hope, as far back as Warzone/Attitude, WCWvsNWO, No Mercy, Smackdown series, etc, I played on the hardest difficulty, i.e. Legend, and it was always "easy" but it still provided a challenge at times, especially on No Mercy, the hardest difficulty, really made the CPU come at you like theyre brock lesnar, and you're hurricane.
on 2K15, the hardest difficulty, was way to easy, seemed easier than easy mode

Does Career Mode in 2K16 still have its difficulty locked? For the love of a non-existent god, please say its not locked! D:
and is the career mode similar to Smackdown vs Raw 2005-2007? Where the cutscenes were actually good, and stories were as well?
Or did they just mash together scenes from Create-A-Story Mode from 2K14 .....

I haven't played a wrestling game since 2010 Smackdown versus Raw, and I'm having problems getting started with this game on my Xbox 360. I definitely like the roster. But, I can't figure out basic things, like how to get out of a pin or submission. Most importantly, I don't see a way to change to "easy" mode as I learn. Any advice?

Decided to buy the game on the 360. I actually enjoy the game. of course there are a few down sides compare to current gen and even the last games but it is what it is.

 

Notes:

In create a superstar/diva, in the body morphing, there's a nice typo where it say "traps" where it's suppose to say "neck", so it says "traps" twice. Confused me at first.

Caw mode pretty much the same except for new announcer names and hometowns. Still no Puerto Rico.

There are a few new moves not available in this version that are available in the current gen version. Like the new super kicks and some of the middle rope moves. I really wanted those super kicks. Not sure if any moves are locked down to locked characters. (Nevermind. They are in, just not as finishers.

After playing 2k14 for about 2 yrs, I felt The gameplay has slowed down a bit. Maybe it was because I had on Adrenaline.

Custom entrance themes for caws is back in. same as before. Don't know why some people had trouble locating it.

They've actually made changes to several models. Cena and Natalya stick out to me the most.

Some models look more accurate than on current gen.

Alicia fox has 2 attires. her default and another when you go to edit her threads.

Online pretty much the same as the last games. CC takes some time loading preview pics.

Of course it has more match types.

All entrances the same as current gen.

Files sizes for created content much larger now. arenas and caws are 45mb. custom logo. Don't know how big there are in 2k15.

Nor is there and option to view match highlights or save them.
