amazing-maze Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) Ok when you say vertexes, are you talking about the body parts?? So far this is what i have http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh85/shadio6/the rock_zpsn9jse0vv.jpg Edited October 6, 2015 by amazing-maze Quote
amazing-maze Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Can I texture this model with my own textures???? Also can I add my own hair onto this model???? Like can I make the hair myself???? Quote
Auday Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Can I texture this model with my own textures???? Also can I add my own hair onto this model???? Like can I make the hair myself????You can edit the textures that are in the pac you extracted the model from so the mapping works good, you can't make the hair from scratch by yourself, you edit an existing hair. Hair files are 2715, textures are 000C and 000A and model is 0000. Quote
amazing-maze Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 The textures seem to be this DDS file type. Zbrush does not take DDS shamefully....any way to change this DDS format to something else?I also tried to use the texture in blender, but it turned my model black. Quote
Auday Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Ok so what you wanna do is download the Nvidia DDS plugins for photoshop, open the dds files in photoshop and save them as JPEG, and after you finish editing and seeing how it turned out it Blender, save it as a DDS. Quote

Ok let me say that I also saw this method of adding the DDS files into photoshop. I'm going to try this. Also do you think that once I save the dds files as jpeg files, will I then be able to use the textures in zbrush? The reason I'm asking is because I'm a zbrush user and it would be amazing if I can edit these models in zbrush......wow, ive been telling myself to learn 3dstudio max, maya, and others. I guess its time are start doing so. Zbrush is so much easier to navigate. I guess that's just my opinion Edited October 6, 2015 by amazing-maze Quote
Auday Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Yes, save it as jpeg and import your model in brush, after that press on texture map and browse for your jpeg. I use brush it works. Quote
amazing-maze Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 ^^^thanks much....ok I think I ran into another mountain Dame, I'm now having trouble getting my photoshoot to pick up this Nvidia DDS plugin. Its just not working, or I'm installing it wrong.....im hearing that it only works for 32 bit photoshop. I have the 64bit version....but they say I can open up a 32 bit version of photoshop on my computer but I don't know how. talking about climbing mountains. lol wow Quote
amazing-maze Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) Ok I was able to change the DDS to a JPEG, but when I brought the JPEG into zbrush as a texture map it did not work...what did I do wrong. Personally I feel I did not save the phototshop file correctly. But again I could be wrong. Jez Edited October 6, 2015 by amazing-maze Quote

amazing-maze Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) OK so can I ask, it seems that the rock has two texture maps. One for his face and one for his body & attire. I have all the subtools, but in order for me to put the body & attire texture wouldent I have to merge the body & leave the head right???This is what I have so far Edited October 7, 2015 by amazing-maze Quote

Sadly enough in Zbrush you are limited to import 1 texture at time so you can't have both eyes and face, you wanna edit one and switch to the other. Also the textures are also located in 000A not only 000C, 000C has the head and ody textures, 000A has stuff like trunks, boots, tights, eyes, hair and so on Quote

Edit each body part in the subtool menu? My goal here is to make a attitude era rocky. Thanks so much Quote

Auday Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Tbh I don't know what's the subtool thing is, I just sculpt the face and then save it. Just remember you can't add or remove vertex or you won't be able to import back to game. Quote

But I'm sure once I'm done I can export it as a OBJ, which should be ok right? Also wanted to say that every time I choose the head, the texture in the texture map only shows on that head. Then when I choose the body the texture and the texture in the texture map box is gone. Why cant we work on each body part and texture it with its correct texture??? I'm showing and example here (I'm using the head texture on the body that's why it looks funny)... Quote

For that reason when you're done from sculpting the face import the body texture and work on the body, that's what I do. Quote
