ninickers Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) I personally doubt that Owen is a playable character in this game. It could be, though, that Owens wife was paid for a limited legends contract with the stipulation that his name wasn't used to help WWE make money. I.e. Advertising ahead of time to increase sales. After Ultimate Warrior was inducted into the hall of fame I'd say anything is possible. Edited October 2, 2015 by ninickers Quote

kingofswing Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I definitely believe Owen will be in the game this year for two reasons. One, Austin's showcase story cannot be told accurately without Owen Hart. When he broke Austin's neck, it cut his career short. Two, they called a move Sit Out Tombstone. What are the odds they just happened to add a move named that the same year as Austin's showcase mode? I don't think Sitout Tombstone is referring to Rikishi's Fire Thunder Driver. The closest move to that would be Fit Finlay's Reverse Kneeling Tombstone Piledriver. Even that IMO isn't it either. Honestly, even if he isn't actually a playable character, they would have to acknowledge the move injuring Austin and the effect it had on his retirement in 2003. However, I can't see them adding an Owen Hart exclusive move without his character being included in the game. Quote

And since I highly doubt Sabu is in the game this year, it kind of narrows the list down. If this is confirmation of sorts for Owen being in, it's awesome news. It'll be the first time he's been in a WWE game since WWF Attitude back in 1999. Not to mention the Hart Foundation stable would be together for the first time in a WWE video game. It may be premature to assume he's in, but I can't think of any other reason that move would be in the game other than Owen Hart. Quote

WWE history will not change & Owen's part in Austin's career is vital because of his injury to Stone Cold. Bret Hart & other members of the Hart family obviously are behind the idea of preserving Owen's legacy & having him in the Showcase mode helps educate newer fans on who he was & how his career shaped current day WWE. Just the fact WWE is working on an Owen Hart DVD kind of implies Martha must be willing to see Owen honored for his contributions to wrestling. Which is good not only for WWE 2k16, but also for his DVD and a possible HOF induction that is long past due. Sure there's a chance the speculation could be wrong, but if I was a betting man I'd say Owen will be in the game. Quote
Aero Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Martha is dead set against wwe profiting from Owen! All they have rights to is their footage. There may be a loophole in there that let's him be in the game... That being said, it could be something shit like you can only use him in that match....To do that his moves still need to be in the game all the same. No doubt if that's the case then there should be a good bit in the creation suite to help make a decent CAS of him 1 Quote

Aero Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 why is your opinion more valid though? Jeffs reasons were sound. sure he was a bit arsey in his manner of getting his point across, but then jumping straight in to calling him a cunt? i was never a massive fan of Owen. i just didnt see it, back then I was a kid, bret was cooler. it'd be nice to see him honoured. I'll agree with bring back hogan, Viscera i was rarely a fan of seeing either! it would be nice to see Owen recognised though, as he was definitely involved in some big fights. Quote
Titavius Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 it's not always Jeff's opinions that are the problem, it's the snarky, cuntish way he insists on expressing them. whether he chooses to believe it or not, it is possible to post a perfectly valid opinion here without sounding like a monumental toss pot.all the best with the Jeff fan club though, Aero. 2 Quote
