Adm King Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) PC version will come out eventually ...but not with the console versions... Edited September 21, 2015 by Adm King Quote
El Buvor Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Well, the 2k15 PC version was "announced" early too, with the famous video which shown the five versions boxes (360, PS3, One, PS4 and PC) but the version was released like six months later. M42Productions Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 From my experience in the games industry, I know of one reason why this happens and it's all to do with negotiated target goals with profit; because they know if they tease you with the console versions and you love the game, you're more inclined to buy the PC version for modding possibilities, so they milk the console profits as much as they can, then announce the PC release to milk that extra money from those buying the game twice. I hated the games industry.I'm thinking piracy has something to do with it, too. If the PC version drops at the same time as the current-gen versions, enough people would bootleg the PC version to take a bite out of 2K's profits. If they wait six months, they'll have made most of their money from sales of the console version and be more able to absorb the hit from piracy. Quote

Most of the people who pirated 2K15 didn't even have PC's capable of properly running the game. Those people were never going to buy the game in the first place either. I think the bigger problem on PC is the grey key market. Now those really are quantifiable lost sales. Releasing late on PC without any announcement is just a sly way to double dip. 2K knows that most of us can't wait, and will end up buying it on both console and PC. Quote
