kingofswing Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I was wondering if anyone has heard if all versions of the game are the same this year? I'm a PS3 owner and I was hoping this year us old gen owners wouldn't get cheated out of the new gameplay, my career mode, etc. Quite honestly, the game looks very impressive from the few videos I've seen. It would be a shame if only the PS4 and XBox One owners got the best features. Since this is most likely the last year for us last gen people, 2k should step up and make sure anyone who buys the game gets equal features. Especially since all versions cost exactly the same amount. Thanks for any help or replies. Quote
Bob_Van_Dam Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 They're not going to stress themselves out making the same exact stuff for last gen, I believe they do have a small team working on last gen though. I would expect nothing but attire/character updates and probably imported music again. 1 Quote

mrelectriccity Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 nope and its for the exact same reason as 2k15 because the new game features uses technology that isn't available on old gen, so it simply can't be done 1 Quote
Fhir Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I don't think MyCareer will be available for last gen consoles. Quote
The Terminator Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I doubt 2K would do that. I mean, they are focusing on the present/future and not the past. Expect 2K16 on last gen to be 2K14 Part III reskinned etc. Hence why there hasn't been any info or screenshots for it lol. Quote

Last year, I pre-ordered 2K15 for the 360 and paid $30 for the Season Pass a week before launch only to find out that they cut Story Designer. I still wish they'd have left it in as a last-gen exclusive mode--current-gen had MyCareer, so why not? Quote

At the very least, if certain features are left out of the old gen versions, then we should get a reduced price. Without the new gameplay, animations, my career mode and imported graphics from 2k15, $39.99 should be the most the old gen owners pay. Otherwise, it's insane to pay $59.99 on ps3/Xbox 360 for a game that is inferior. With a little under two months to go before the game's release date, we should know exactly what our money is buying. Especially people who have old gen systems and want equal features if we're paying full price for a half hearted attempt. Quote

THQ/Yukes really messed up the engine horribly. 1 Quote
Adm King Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 PS4,XBOne & PC are going to be the same...but the old gen versions PS3 & 360 will be an updated copy of 2k14 ...it's a total loss buying the game on an old gen console...2k doesn't care for it...they haven't released any info yet!!! Quote
kidsampson Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I think that the last gen rosters will either be reduced or a lot of additional arenas and stuff will be cut. Anyone who has modded past games know how much space is needed for 100+ pac files, which is more than will fit on a single disk unless assets are removed. Quote
Custom-R Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Saw. This. Coming. No way could 360 and PS3 handle this. Trying to make the last gen versions equal, even remotely similar puts a planet on their back. It's simply an unreasonable task. But not to worry! As a last gen player, I can always get the PC version (which I am sure will show up in 2016). Quote

If they reduced the roster i could see alot of people pissed on last gen. dont' forget, however that story designer and (wasn't CAF removed too?) were removed from last gen as well so that did free up a ton of space. i know that story designer took alot of space considering bryan williams said it took them nearly 4 years to develop. I can easily see 2K16 having fewer wrestlers on last-gen because of disk space--I mean, they could probably put the extra wrestlers on a second disk if they wanted to, but that's never gonna happen. If they do cut wrestlers from last-gen, it'd be cool if they offered those up along with Story Designer and Create-a-Finisher as DLC (preferably free DLC), but I know better than to get my hopes up. If I do get 2K16, I'll probably play it for kicks and keep 2K14 for Story Designer. Quote

kidsampson Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) I think some installations I have of past games with added pac files are more than 12 gigs. Maybe they've found a way to compress them further this year though, or as others have said, maybe they gutted more features. I hope that's not the case because I'm stuck on a 360 for the time being. I mean, they removed CAF and Story Designer. I wasn't particularly a fan of either, but considering that and My Career mode won't be in the last gen versions, 2k should give us quality for our money. Especially with the roster. What possible reason would they cut the roster down with so many key features missing? It's bad enough us last gen owners won't get the gameplay upgrades and the My Career mode. Now not getting the same roster means the PS3/Xbox 360 versions will be very inferior. I was really hoping 2k would send off the last gen with one last epic game. But it appears that it'll be nothing but a disappointment. For now, I'll take the rumors with a grain of salt. However, if this info is true, I may skip this year and wait until I upgrade to get a new game. Most likely, I will read reviews for the last gen versions before I buy it or skip it. Quote

I get why they were though. both were cumbersome. I used to hate downloading a caw from say dre41 (that was my go to guy on 2k14 ever since SVR10) and he'd have CAF's assigned and i'd have to go in and use regular finishers cause those CAF's didn't sell at all lol. but yeah a 2 disc wrestling game that's not gonna happen lol Quote

If they cleaned up all the duplicates then there would be heaps more room on the DVD. Quote

the King Lives Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I really don't see the problem with duplicates especially after not being able to edit alts last year (to an extent) the multiple Henry Orton del rio Daniel and sheamus was uncalled for but Kane taker and triple h should have duplicates every year bc of the short vs long hair and mask vs unmasked scenarios Quote
