How Will Or Should The DLC Be In 2k16

dlc packs...we all like love or hate them. A good question to ask ourselves is are they really needed to make the game a hit? Well my question is yes just to bring new life to the game after a few months of it being out. But the dlc formula needs a overhaul IMO.

 

    Let's have dlc packs not include any superstars aside from the one's included in showcase content or 1 pack of them that has a purpose no randoms. I'm more for having the packs focus on small minor thing that may not have been able to be put into the game on launch day. For example updated arenas and they're graphics, new or more moves is fine, new cas features such as cloth's, hair, and matchup screen poses. 

 

    Dlc packs should be the little things that make you say hey another kool add-on and its not $10 that you have to spend on something that you probably don't want or need but it might feature 1 thing that you want out of it. For dlc to really be successful it has to be something the fans really want. Just brainstorming something along the lines like.

 

Wrestlemania Pack:

4 legends from the greatest wm moments with 2 legend managers and 1 or 2 wm arenas

 

New Gimmick Pack:

10 new hairstyles, 5 new tops and bottoms in every category example jackets, pants, boots, singlets, hats etc and 5 to 10 new matchup screen poses

 

Showcase Pack:

No example needed we have all download a showcase before

 

A Thousand Holds Packs:

More moves that wasn't able to make the cut by launch or more moves just because the movesets get stale after months of seeing them

 

Here Comes The Champion Pack:

New ring entrance animations the whole fan base really misses the original entrances that were taken out. 5 or so new entrances would be great.

 

The Story Has Just Begun Pack:

More storylines for the wwe universe mode from classics to current and even originals

 

But yea I've made you all read enough lol but I was just thinking how much more cooler the game would be to exactly have dlc packs the fans would be happy to buy and be satisfied with.

oh I totally agree without you I would personally like to see Ruthless agression showcase but we could keep dreaming for that, but i have a glimmer of hope that the dudleys could make in one of the dlc's. Anyone agree with me if you do just testify.

Interesting idea. The DLC formula has become too easy to read, and in truth, seeing as we have the ability to recreate superstars/divas that we wanted in the game (plus those that become dlc), it sort of makes the DLC truly hollow in a way.

 

Along with what you suggested, here's something I would suggest:

The Stage Creators' Pack

-At least 10 to 15 new custom stage layouts to use in stage creator, new venue sizes (including Football Stadium Large Crowd, No Crowd, Times Square Crowd)

Attitude Pack

-New Custom Superstar hairstyles, Diva Hairstyles, Outfits, Attires, Tattoos, Ring Gear, Ring Moves, and Poses based on the Attitude Era.

-BONUS: Includes RAW '98-99, SmackDown! '00-01, and Wrestlemania 15

Ring Moves Pack

-Only contains a slew of new moves, or moves that couldn't be included in time for release.

Ruthless Pack

-Similar to Attitude Pack, but has items based on the Ruthless Aggression Era.

BONUS: Includes RAW '04-'05, Smackdown! '06, and WWE Velocity

Golden-GenerationPack

-Similar to Attitude Pack and Ruthless Pack, but has items based on the Golden Era and A New Generation (excluding anything resembling "you know who."

BONUS: RAW '93

Creation Expansion

-Adds another 30 Slots for the price of $4.99. (Highly unlikely this will happen).

-Retro Attires for Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Bray Wyatt, The Miz, Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Paige, Summer Rae

Scary Monsters Pack

-Includes Kane '98, Undertaker (Ministry), Christian '98, Edge '98, Brock Lesnar '00, Mankind, Big Show '03, Bray Wyatt '14-15, Luke Harper '14-15, Eric Rowan '14-15 (As extra costumes)

 

Well, some of these seem a little like a dream, but some of these are doable, I think, and can shake up 2K's DLC content. Oh, and the last thing I think should be that they don't release pre-order content at all, even after the game had been out for a while.

I'm ok with the idea of additional premium DLC featuring wrestlers and moves, but beyond that additional creation content should be free. Gamers don't have to pay for new jersey or shoe designs when NBA 2K gets updated, so why should this series be any different? Any content that keeps the game current like stat adjustments and attires is the responsibility of the developer to maintain the relevancy of the release and sustain sells until the next annual installment ships.

One idea I like is timed releases to coincide with events. For example, it would be great to have a gimmick pack drop in January before the Royal Rumble. They could introduce gimmick wrestlers from the past as special entrants in the Rumble, which typically happens on actual programming. The Wrestlemania pack could similarly feature big name headliners who make random appearances or legacy matchups named Wrestlemania Classics. These would come with characters, arenas, videos, and everything needed to recreate the event, much like the Showcase packs. 

Whatever direction they go, I like themes. Instead of random wrestlers being thrown together, it would be great to have packs of wrestlers that actually go together. A good template to follow is any of the WWE.com countdown lists. It would make much more sense to have packs built around top tag teams, top cruiserweights, or top masked wrestlers rather than a cluster of random legends or midcard talent. Better yet, create packs around title contenders, like the Intercontinental title contender pack filled with only past title holders. There's nothing worse than years where they've given us someone like the Legion of Doom without any additional tag teams to compete against.

Anyway, here are some of my predictions for this year's DLC, considering some of these don't make the in-game roster:

I'd love a to see a Kliq Showcase, a Goldberg Showcase,  a Streak/Undertaker Showcase, & a Daniel Bryan showcase.

I think they should add in Samoa Joe, the new divas from NXT, some notable WCW stars & the Nitro/starrcade arenas as DLC.

 

What sucks about showcases is there are some major players who had major impact on everybody whose somebody's careers which are hard to overlook. Hogan, Owen, Angle, Punk & Benoit are 5 HUGE gaps in history & it'll be hard to do any showcases justice without them. Imagine a Bret showcase without Owen, Imagine a Savage Showcase without Hogan, folks on here been saying "Do a Brock showcase, how can you ignore Kurt Angle" even this austin showcase coming up, they'll have to skip all of 2001 because he feuded with Kurt Angle the entire year mostly & they'll have to skip his Owen feud, obviously the Nation will be in so he'll just magically become champion, or they'll do a weak video package.

They probably won't ever do a Ruthless Aggression Showcase as a main feature. It'll be a side note at best because the Ruthless Aggression era was though of as a down period of wwe, same as New Generation(which was one of my notable childhood eras). Even though it has sentimental nostalgia for some it'll always be downplayed to the attitude era & golden era.

fair enough how bout a ruthless aggression dlc with a showcase, let's not include the Hardys or Kurt angle. But the Dudley boys I know this will be such a dumb idea but it would cool to a ruthless aggression dlc that's what I would like to see.

I'm sorry but that would not be that easy to do pre 2012, since you'd need Hardy Boyz, Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Hogan for example, so it wouldn't really happen.

Personally I'm a tag team mark so I would like to see a tag team showcase. Maybe from edge & Christian, L.O.D, the heart foundation, brothers of destruction, etc  I think it will be a lot more action than just the typical 1 on 1 matches that's mostly in the showcase mode
