The Great Kimo Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Coming directly from WWE 2K's official Twitter account, there will be no special edition for WWE 2K16 in the United States. Here's the link for their tweet. This could mean that special editions may be released in other regions, or maybe there will be no special edition at all. King87 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 They aren't that special anyway so no biggie. I do want that stone cold steel case tho hope that's not considered as the special edition US can't get Quote
The Terminator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Tbh, it's not that big of a deal, to me anyway. Quote
Apost Khan Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Who buys physical copies anymore anyway? Quote
The Terminator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Who buys physical copies anymore anyway?I do. And will continue to do so until the day they stop making physical copies. Quote
Bob_Van_Dam Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Who buys physical copies anymore anyway? The fuck? I do, I'm not taking my chances with game problems from Digital downloads. Quote

The only benefit you get is it installing from a disc rather than downloading from a server. The data is exactly the same. I'm all for both digital and physical, but special editions are primarily shit. 1 Quote
AlcLegacy Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I prefer physical. If it's available for 2k16 on PC physical then I'll be picking it up. Special editions to me don't matter, I bought the Phenom edition of 2k14, and it was cool, but now I have a coffin style lunch box type thing just chillin around here for no reason, lol. It's cool, and the only reason i got it was 'Taker. other than that, never gotten any special edition as they don't appeal to me too much. Quote

Most retail games on PC are usually nothing more than a Steam key. You are basically just buying packaging. I bought a retail PC game a few weeks ago and still had to dl 30+ gbs from Steam. I felt like an idiot.Who buys physical copies anymore anyway? The fuck? I do, I'm not taking my chances with game problems from Digital downloads. Why? Steam refunds are the easiest refunds to get. Clicking a tab and a few checkboxes is much easier then driving to the closest gamestop and having to deal with their nonsense.I didn't mean to offend anyone. I haven't played on a console in a long time. I thought they had gone mostly digital like PC. My bad. Edited August 20, 2015 by Apost Khan Quote
mrelectriccity Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Yeah i actually prefer digital download myself, dont have to worry about scratching or losing it, or if u take ya console some where and forget the game not to mention that u dont have get up change disc every time u wanna play a different game. Only time i get physical copies is if im getting a used one for the low. But just really giving the companies more profit because they actually save a ton of money on making the physical copy, casing, and they dont have to sale it wholesale to retailers. With all that saved money u would think they would make them at least $10 cheaper but back to the subject at hand, i never really cared for the special editions and thought they was waste of money. rather just have the regular version wit season pass. jitz Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I have some problems with digital distribution. Firstly, they were meant to lower the price of videogames, it never did. Without boxes, freight, discs, printing etc, publishers were saving a lot of money and just never passed on the savings. Secondly, how long these games will be available for? I can still hunt down SNES physical cartridges and play them, it's 25 years old. Do you really think Sony and Microsoft are going to be keeping these games available after 25 years? No way. Three, there's no benefit at all, and you likely paid more for the digital copy than at a retailer who heavily discounts to get you in the doors. Quote
