Tidal Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 My PC is setup with a 128gb SSD as the boot drive with windows and all my applications on, then everything else is stored on a 2TB HDD. The problem is my boot drive (where the steam folder is located!) is getting very full so my question is if I clone the boot drive to a new 256 SSD will X-Packer still work as I've read you need to re-buy if you upgrade your system. The other, probably better option would be to move my steam folder to my storage drive, but I was wondering if this would drastically affect performance. Also, how to actually do this because the advice I found via google seemed to indicate having to re-download you steam library to a new location, which obviously wouldn't have all the mods I've installed...Any help/advice would be appreciated, I'm very much a noob to PC gaming/modding so I'm sorry if I didn't include any vital bits of information here. beastedot9 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) I would first try to clear space as a full drive is not good anyway. As for the drive, I use my standard 1tb and it works okay for me. I suggest looking here for moving steam games: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/293599-32-move-steam-games-drive-otherLook at the selected answer(in green). As for x-packer, under normal circumstances it should work fine. In any case, email tekken if you're having any issues. Also make sure you backup your mods as they could be deleted. Edited August 9, 2015 by beastedot9 Quote
Tidal Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 Awesome, thank you. Moving the steam folder seems like the best solution, I'll give that a go. Quote
