Editing custom superstar Twitter handles ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I downloaded a few of Tekken's community DLC pack superstars and saw that they have incorrect Twitter handles. For example, Kurt Angle has "@TheRealJackSwagger" as his.

Is it possible to modify this somewhere, somehow? Perhaps through hex editing?

It's not a huge problem, but would add even more authenticity to the game for me.

Thanks

As a matter of fact, I keep running into the Twitter handles when I edit the names of my modded characters. They are located in the string.pac file, in the WWE 2K15 directory, and can be edited in Xpacker. You probably could hex edit, too, although I'm not 100% sure how to do so.

Just open the file in a hex editor and search for the twitter you want to replace. As usual it can't be longer than the original.  Hope this helps :)

I guess this will also change jack swagger's twitter handle...

I just figured something out regarding this. If you add the wrestlers to a empty slot, then extract the .pofo file from the save, offsets C and D are the wrestler's Twitter handle.

Example: If you edit the text (in string.pac) at 69DD to somebody's Twitter handle, then go into the hex editor and edit offset C to be DD, and offset D to be 69, then import the .pofo file to the slot you extracted it from (our example is 216), then in game, the wrestler in slot 216 will have the text at 69DD for their Twitter handle.

If you replace jack swagger shouldn't be an issue but the post below is a good find to change this through other means.

This could be a great way to assign unused slots, change them and assign them to wrestlers.

Wow, thanks a lot for the replies guys.

I've hex edited the strings.pac file to reflect "@RealKurtAngle", however, in game it still reflects as "@RealJackSwagger". Unless I missed another entry, I'll look at it again later tonight, unless anyone else can take a peek for me as well?

Do you have another string.pac in your pac folder? This sounds like there's a backup in the folder that it's reading from.

No, just the one.  I've even permanently deleted all backups (some were in recycle bin).

Go to your main game folder and search for  'string' in the explorer. I know you say you deleted backups but I just tried removing the string.pac and it froze after the splash screen. There has to be a file there that it's reading from.

Thanks a lot, that did the trick!

I made a backup of the original file in the same folder, removed the backup completely from my game folder and finally had my updated Twitter handle :D
