Signal2Noise Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) WARNING: THIS WILL TURN OFF STEAM CLOUD BACKUP, WHICH I KNOW MOST OF YOU USE. BE CAREFUL AND FOLLOW JUST MY INSTRUCTIONS FOR DESIRED RESULTS.Hey guys,So there's been this awful bug that's been effecting me and, from the looks of it, many others ever since a recent Steam update. Basically, the game would crash whenever I'd try to play MyCAREER or create a superstar from the Creation Suite. All over the internet, I found results saying,"Just update your machine." I did that. No luck. I also found it quite interesting that only seemed to fix Windows 7 PCs. Seeing as I have a Windows 8.1 machine, this quickly became a fragmenting issue. Another thing that confused me was that most if not all of the concerns were from before the recent DLC update was released, which was already in my game before it decided to go haywire on me.For weeks and weeks, I scrambled far and wide looking for a solution. (I uninstalled and reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers so many times...) But finally I conjured a thought of something useful and could potentially fix the game. You see, Steam updates often, as you probably know. With every update comes a slightly altered version of the application. This means that all of the services the app provides can sometimes be altered. This also means that some services can negatively effect game performance or cause unnecessary crashes because the game is meant to be optimized for an older version of the program. Basically, Steam Cloud Backup, the only Steam service tied to WWE 2K15, had to go. I was convinced this was the issue. Alas, the crashes stopped! I was so thrilled that I figured I'd try my best to help with this nightmare of a bug. Now, because every PC is different in terms of drivers and construction, this may not fix your machine, but try it. It was the only of many tried attempts that finally fixed the game's issues, so hopefully it will work for you too!So here's a quick guide to potentially fix this ridiculous bug once and for all:1. Update all video drivers (NVIDIA and AMD/AMI)2. Open Steam3. Right click "WWE 2K15" under the "Library" tab4. Click "Properties"5. Go to "Updates" and uncheck "Steam Cloud Backup"6. Run the game and try it out! Please get back to me on your results. If it worked, fantastic! If not, I'll try my best to work with you. Obviously, I know how frustrating this issue is, so feel more than free to comment regarding this issue and I'll be sure to help. Thanks guys and have a wonderful day!UPDATE 7/12:So, I made it past the first few matches in MyCAREER Mode, but before the third match, the game crashes. I'm looking into it again, because this might be due to my change in Selection Images. My image for William Regal, a prominent figure in the earlier part of MyCAREER, has yet to show because Bill DeMott is currently directing me. I knew it was around this time early on that the switch from DeMott to Regal happens, but I'm not sure if it's before or after the character switches to NXT. Can anyone confirm or deny this?[SOLVED] UPDATE 7/28: After much research and thought, I did what I believed was a last resort option, considering how many mods I'd have to reinstall. I used Steam to "Verify Integrity of Game Cache", affectively uninstalling all mods and edits to the game files. Luckily, this solved the issue! If you are having the issues above with the game, try this out! Have a good day. Edited July 28, 2015 by Signal2Noise Quote
