Video Tutorial: Creating Mods with Blender (Workflow to create new 3D heads)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello everybody,

some people asked me to do a tutorial on how I work with the free 3D software Blender to create mods like Paige and Nakamura and that is exactly what I did.

If you want you can listen to me for over an hour while I try to speak proper English and try to show you my workflow with Blender (in this case I create Mick Foley)

Tutorial: http://adf.ly/1JvHJQ

Covered topics:

Extracting and importing a reference 3D model
Finding a suitable base model
Blender import settings
Using vertex groups
Using the Shrinkwrap modifier
Manual edits for mouth, eyes and ears
Using "Smooth vertex"
Using the sculpt mode
Baking textures (transfer texture from reference model to new 2K15 model)
Blender export settings
Render only certain objects in a YOBJ file (remove attire)

(Skip marks and other meta data will be added at a later point)

I hope I can help some people to start creating mods =)

You'll have to live with that. Proxies or VPNs should help you out.

Glad the tutorial is useful to some folks. I've now added time codes in the video description as well:

Is 5 seconds too much to wait? The guy did an hour worth of a tutorial to help and that's your input?

Anyway, thanks prinsto, this addresses some of the issues I was having so it is very helpful :)

Awesome tut!

I will go over this after I get back from school. This will definitely help to many including me who are using the Blender to mod.

Thanks again for this nice tutorial.  Also, it was really helpful to know that facial animation thing too.

When you want to import new hair from someone different you take the WHOLE yobj file and import into the PACH file of your modded wrestler in the 2715 slot.

Don't try to import other hair with X-Rey.

It looks like he's using a hair from another game. Don't recognize that hair from 2k15, may be wrong though.

Much appreciated Prinsto, It's so much easier following your tutorials in English, I don't speak a word of German but tried to follow your tuts on youtube lol.

Please consider doing more tutorials, Blender + Tekken57's tools all the way :D
