maddogtime Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) Hello there, I have been trying to get my head around using your excellent mods for my PS3 (it's been "modified") and so far I have managed (using xpacker) to replace wrestlers .pac files in the game, after updating the .arcs and all that (wahay). BUT, I cannot seem to get the attire adding working, example Kevin Nash by rub3945:I open the misc.pac (misc01_startpac) and edit it in MISC editor > change (335) attire # to 10 + update the attire slots with new values (here, I left A1 and A2 with Original values, then for A3 I just picked from 8AB1 and down) << there's my problem perhaps?? << and Save.Next, I open the modded 335.pac to update data of the .arc files (update / add attire data - does it matter) and I get confirmation that attire data has been added.Lastly, I transfer the edited files to the PS3 (.arc in wwe2k15 /game folder and .pac files in /GAMES in their proper folders) and fire up the game and...no change to Mr. Nash's wardrobe. (sod it.)Please, can someone tell me where I got it wrong? I have been staring myself blind at this problem.Cheers! Thanks tekken for a great program in Xpacker and thank you modders for all your hard work!! Sidenote, sorry:Is evtobj.pac involved in this or is that just when you have to inject individual attires manually so to speak?? Andy seems to favor these... Lastly, the AGS packs; If I want both Kevin Owens and Chris Sabin in the game but they both take up Lesnar's slot (343) and I want to replace Woods instead, is it as simple (probably not) as editing the CH PAC data to match Woods PAC? kim666 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 You have installed all updates and dlc? If yes the game now reads the attires from the misc01_start_dlc60.pac file, you can dl a fixed file with 100 attire slots from andys topic:http://smacktalks.org/forums/topic/52435-andy´s-ps3-mods-whc-belt-collection/ Quote
maddogtime Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) Thanks! Yes, that is correct. I knew about that file, only I thought that it was only when modding the actual DLC files that you needed that specific misc.pac.Back to the drawing board. //UPDATE//I edited the new misc.pac file to give Nash his 10 attires and updated the plistPS3.arc before I copied the new misc.pac and .arc files to their folders (catalog9/pac and cat9/info) + the plist.arc > booted the game and it froze while loading, not even the disclaimer screen. So, where did I mess up? Should I have waited with updating the misc.dlc60.pac until having run the game once first or.... DANG IT.//UPDATE 2//I copied the original catalog9 files to the game folders and that fixed the freeze-up. Then I once again updated the 335.pac, this time I picked 2EE1 as the value for all the attires, saved, updated .arc files (still the two plistps3.arcs) and copied all files to the game folders. "Game Data Corrupt, Erase blahblah" SIGH.Is it that I keep selecting the wrong attire values for the misc.pac? But the only thing they determine is the name of the attire, right? kim666 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 "Game Data Corrupt" means that one .pac file from the "game" folder is missing, did you copy something except the catalog9 dlc files into your "game" folder?Remember everything except dlc and .arc/.def files must replaced in the "GAMES" folder. The game checks on every startup the "game" folder and if a file has the wrong size it gets deleted, the bitchy game will still boot and work fine, but at the next start when the file is missing you get the "Game Data Corrupt" error. maddogtime Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) Thanks for taking the time to solve this, appreciate it. Heh, I thought I copied arc/def to "game" and pac files to "GAMES". Must have obviously made a mistake then or wrong filesize somehow. The game has been messing with me so much, finally I just deleted and reinstalled from scratch. Yes, besides the catalog9 files, I copied the updated plist.arc files to the "game" folder (as instructions say) - the ch.pac went into GAMES. Dont think I missed anything. Do I update the catalog.arc files in any way? And the .def files only need editing if I actually change the filename of the ch.pac, correct? (I have made backups of ch folders etc). Thanks again.//UPDATE//Turns out that my filetransfer had gotten screwed up - forgot to use Blackbox FTP - and so I had a mountain of missing or halfway done files in the game folders...I ran the game just fine with the updated arc/pac files though the problem is the same > no add. attires; although this time I managed to get RAW to appear in the selection screen - I am feeling very old right now (40 yrs and still trying to get mods in my games - FOOL.)In the Misc Editor I put values from 2EE1 (the original attires all seem to have this value) to 2F13 but does it matter - should I use the original wwe2k15 values (8AAD etc.) values instead?//LAST RANT//I used the original values (8AAD - XXXX) and actually managed to get the attires showing in the selection screen (no Original though, strange since I did put the value in the misc.pac - should that have been left as 2EE1...) and I start a match > game loops with the spinning logo showing. Nothing.I think I will stop wasting my time and yours and take up needlepoint or stick with the PC version or WWE2k14. Thanks for all the fish. Edited June 26, 2015 by maddogtime Quote
maddogtime Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Success. Of sorts. As a last gasp effort, I copied (all updated) plistps3.arc files into BOTH /game and /GAMES folders, wrestler.cap into CH folder of /GAMES, /game and /catalog09 and misc60.cap into /catalog09 (wtf?, yeah I know - I got p*ed off I guess) - I get the full attire list at the selection screen, everything loads and Nash saunters out in NWO attire (YEEES!) - then I quit, reboot and...GAME DATA CORRUPT. At this point I said some words I hope my kids did not hear. Ah well.... Quote

maddogtime Posted June 28, 2015 Author Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) Awesome. Thank you very much for all your help!//The new eboot.bin did not seem to make the game skip the file check. I can only get the mod to work if I copy the wrestler.cap into the /game folder and that is when the game deletes the file and reports an error on the next boot. At least, the corrupt data error is easy enough to fix but the game is not accepting the mod. Could there be something wrong with the mod itself - I noticed Nash had some odd texture bits sticking out from back of his head?Once again, thank you for taking the time. kim666 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 did you copy the eboot.bin into the game folder? And please stop editing the posts. Simply answer with a new post. Quote
maddogtime Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Ok, sure.Eboot.bin > /Games = Corrupt Game DataEboot.bin > /game = game idles/loops at boot-up (WWE2k15 logo spinning)Eboot.bin > both folders = idles/loops at boot-up Quote
kim666 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 The PS3 starts the eboot.bin file from the /game folder, but the modded eboot.bin reads only game files from the /GAMES folder (except the catalog files). The spinning WWE2k15 logo means that a file is missing from the /GAMES folder, but it is still in your /game folder because the game works when you start from the original eboot.bin (it reads the files from the /game) folder. The game usually starts even with missing files in "pac/ch" or "pac/bg". I think a file is missing in the "pac" main folder or in "pac/menu" Quote
maddogtime Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Ok, I get it - thank you for explaining. I'll check for that missing file, compare the folder content. Quote
maddogtime Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Haven't had time to check on this until now. So, things are getting even more weird. Checked files and folders, could not find anything missing in /Games folder. Spent some time mucking about then tried the following idiocy:EBOOT.BIN is original in game/games. Arc files updated for /game. misc60 and catalog files in game/catalog09. F.dat is deleted not just renamed.335.pac is copied into both pac/ch in game/games together with original ch335.pac.def file in /game is edited to contain path for both 335.pac and xx335.pac > to keep the original file but somehow fool the game to load the modded .pac (Lame, I know)Game refused to load, hangs in boot up or match screen > I reinstall latest patch + dlc patch just to get game working...Next boot up, everything works...mod works and does not cause "corrupt data" on subsequent boot ups?!?! And I am not using the new EBOOT.BIN you provided, what the hey?Nash is in the game and working but I have NO bloody idea how I fumbled this one into the goal....any theories? kim666 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 when you install the latest patch + dlc patch the .arc/.def files will be overwritten with the original files. The game will work, but the mods shouldn't work? Quote
maddogtime Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 Yeah, I know right but there is at least that one mod that defies all logic. It baffles the mind.Question: Is there any specific way to assign the attire values when you edit the miscXX.pac or is it just a matter of preference? Quote
kim666 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 If a mod has exact the same file size like the original file, it will work. The attire values define the attire names, the game reads the names from the misc_dlc03.pac file. The names doesn't matter. Quote

Ummm, the mod Nash-file is 100+ MB and the in-game original is somewhere like 7 or 8 MB - maybe I'm just not getting it. Quote
