so i was wondering....is it possible to make royal rumble to be like HCTP.... its stupid to press all the buttons to eliminate someone...you cant just sneak and push him out from the back.... i just want to eliminate pople with normal irish whip.....it would be a lot harder to win but it would be a lot more fun....

When your finisher bar is full... you can eliminate your opponent by pressing just 1 button.

As for the HCTP type of elimination

Here I thought this thread was about the possibility of breaking the 6-superstars in ring limit.  I'll comment anyway, since we're talking RR.

1. The minigame: It would be too much work for such a minor aspect of the game.

2. Breaking the 6-Superstar limit:  Doable I think, but it will also take a lot of work.  Unless time is spent properly optimizing the game, (which 2K did a poor job of btw), trying to do this will require a beefier system than what the existing sys reqs demand.  The RR is easier than trying to set up a legit battle royale, 8-man tag, or proper survivor series match.  You don't have to worry about the character selection bit, as the RR lets you put 30+ guys in the match already. You'd just have to fool the game into thinking it's ok to send another participant out to the ring despite there already being 6 in the ring.  There could be issues with the game operating more than 6 characters at one time, but that matter kind of falls into the process of optimizing the game a little better.  It would be interesting to see what the game would do if we made it send out a 7th character though.

There may be some validity to this.  However it may have unintended consequences.  What if the game doesn't have memory allocated to the 7th players AI?  Or his Health/Stamina/Momentum.  I think it'd be nice to get a 7th man into the ring but it might be hard to get it to work past that.

There should be a sliding scale for this sort of thing. Consoles are weak and can handle 6. Some PCs can probably handle 12+ guys in the ring at once. Others 4.

There should be a slider setting for max amount of players in Royal Rumble at one time.

It's not limited because of hardware, it's limited because the games code is from the ps2. The rumble is garbage on the game. I have a really good PC, 6 cores, 8 gigs of ram, 2gbs of vram and my rumble freezes for 2 mins every time a new guy comes out. I have no idea why since 6 man matches work fine outside of the rumble. That and online mode are so broken in my game that I can't even play either.

If you are using CAWS in the rumble one thing that might limit you is Hard Drive Speed.  But yeah the optimization is pretty meh.

This is what experimentation is for.    It would be a very good starting point to just trick the game into sending out a 7th guy and see what happens with that one change.  I highly doubt it will work well enough with that alone, but it should still gauge exactly how much tinkering we'll have to do.

As for the CAW thing, I have a hunch.  I suspect that CC caws are stored in a more streamlined fashion, (makes sense to make them easier to upload/download on the CC servers.)   Try running a royal rumble loaded with CC CAWs only and see if it runs better.     If that works, it might be worthwhile to be able to convert CAWs between CC and regular formats.

If I could get some sort of idea of how this limit is set, I might be able to experiment. Unfortunately, I too believe it will lead to the game crashing in one way or another.I may look at the battle royals first to see what goes on there to up the limit from 4 to 6 man.

I have 400 gbs free on my 2nd Steam drive where 2k is installed, I've even tried running it from my ssd since that is what I have to do with Skyrim since that used 4K textures and gets bottle-necked by normal hdd read/write speeds, but that didn't fix things. I think the problem is related to entrances being locked at 30 and the in-ring action running at 60, as the lag only occurs while the entrants music is playing. This game is by far the oddest pc game I've ever owned. Everyone has something wrong with their game, but no two people have the same issue. My buddy gets the black ring glitch constantly, yet I've never experienced that once. It's very strange.

What it boils down to is this game falls into the category of console game to PC port.  A lot of the things we expect of a PC game are absent in a port from a console.  The best example of this is Red Faction 2, (which rather sucks btw.)  It's an FPS, but because it's a from-console port it doesn't have an option for the developer's console among other things.  If it was a proper PC release 75% of the issues people have like you're describing probably wouldn't exist.  Nonetheless, it's not the worst case of a from-console port.  (It's still better than Red Faction 2)

lol yepp. Still better than COD Ghosts and Wolfenstien New Order too. God those were awful ports. At-least this doesn't have constant frame dips and spikes. Outside of this Rumble issue, most of the problems I've encountered are legacy issues that have nothing to do with the port.
