Former WWE Superstar Matt Sydal, otherwise known as Evan Bourne is doing motion capture work on WWE 2K16.

The high flyer, known to independent wrestling fans by his real name, was pictured dressed in the motion capture suit that is used to make the action in the virtual version of WWE’s ring as realistic as possible.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion, who has turned out for the likes of Ring of Honour and FWE in recent times, has joined the likes of NXT’s Samoa Joe, TNA’s Low Ki and fellow independent grappler Chase Stevens in doing the in-ring simulation on the new game.

This isn’t an uncommon trick that WWE uses to provide almost lifelike action and seamless routines in their games. They call on former talents, and members of their current roster for that matter, to produce the best looking action. Just think about how when you’re playing with Randy Orton in the new game, you’re actually playing with Damien Sandow who did The Viper’s entrance and move set. That’s hard to get you’re head around, right?

Of course in Sydal’s case, there quite literally isn’t anything he cannot do between the ropes which opens up a number of possibilities for WWE and 2K Sports. Of course, he will be tasked with simulating the move sets of today’s crop of high flyers like Neville, although the Englishman was in last year’s game and recorded his signature Red Arrow finisher himself.

Nevertheless, given the obvious (not in the eyes of Vince McMahon and WWE’s creative team) talents Sydal possesses, his work for the smaller members of the main roster should make for more entertainingly unmissable action in the ring.

Sydal is also an excellent mat technician, especially since leaving the E. So it may not just be flashy moves.
