LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 What exactly did you edit on the ECW arena aside from the banner texture? Isn't that just the performance centre? Basically I started with the performance center and figured out all the yobj files that I needed to get rid of. For some strange reason I couldn't get rid of the PC logo on the wall (lighting effect I think) so I added NXT curtain and pulled it out far enough to hide it. Also added several other yobjs and textures from various arenas to add to it and then replaced any extra yobjs I was trying to get rid of with folding tables that are hidden under the ring. Trust me, MUCH more work than texture edits. Quote
LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Really because I don't see much more work. Not being snarky but it looks like minor edits to the performance centre, the reason I know this is because I used a similar technique for my ICW arena. Your problem is baked lighting maps, engines like Unreal Engine do it. I'm assuming there will be an AO map around that is controlling it though which would eliminate the problem. Ok, then. Guess I'm not as good a modder as yourself. And I changed the AO map but the logo still showed up. Quote
LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Great work LJ, as always. Thanks Quote
LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Will Nicks WCW arena work with this too? Yes, he has agreed to let us use it so it should be in the next release. Quote

You have a tendency to exaggerate, giving new comers the illusion that something is incredibly hard, when it isn't at all and I see that as wrong. Stop acting like a rocket and take criticism. And you have a tendency to belittle people, giving new comers the illusion that you are the greatest thing to ever grace this earth, and I see that as wrong. Stop acting like a dick and criticizing others when there is absolutely no need. Your "criticism" isn't constructive. You're not letting me know things that need to be improved, you're simply criticizing for the sake of criticism. It just acts to feed your own ego and show how much smarter you are than everyone else. I have never done any modding before. I AM a new comer. I'm figuring everything out as I go. I don't suggest I'm any expert. In fact I would suggest the opposite. I just wanted to help create something that myself and others might enjoy. Edited June 11, 2015 by LordJustice17 3 Quote

LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Stop criticizing peoples work? Absolutely not. Not everybody is going to paint the ground gold for you. The only way to get better is through criticism - if you canne take criticism of your work then it leads me to believe you want people to just say how great you are and is a self reflection of how you see me. Your first point is entirely subjective and I wouldn't speak for others if I were you. No, I'm trying to poke at you to make your work better. What you're doing is good but it isn't great and I believe it can be. Your problem isn't with me, it's with you. If I'm all for me, why when I quit modding have I continued to work together with BraveBird, Tekken and others to try push envelope of what can be done with modding? Sure, that's the motive of all modders. But here's the thing, you never criticized my work, you criticized me as a person. You never once said "this part could use a little fixing", or "how about you try this here". You said "oh, what you did wasn't that hard". And if you've read through this thread you can see that we are very receptive to ideas and suggestions on how to improve. Edited June 11, 2015 by LordJustice17 Quote
Gammah88 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 LJ and Bannok i dont think this is the place to go back and forth with each other. I am not siding with anyone but i will give my review of the full mod when its out. Quote
TheBleedingRed21 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 We appreciate any advice you'd give us but your criticism isn't (yet) constructive. Let's not derail this thread anymore as we just trying to enjoy creating the best we can for you guys.. Quote
d12345 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I just had a thought. Are the referees in game tied/locked to specific arenas? Like can we make a ref look a certain way just for specific arenas? I was thinking for example WCW/nWo Souled Out we could have Nick Patrick the nWo ref in future releases. Something like this Nick Patrick when he went full nWo with the black jeans and black nWo shirt. ref: Would it be something easy to do? I ask because you all know the file structure of this year's arenas better than anyone I'd imagine Quote

TheVisitorX Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) @d12345: Good question! I'm also interested in this. Since the DLC came out there are some classic arenas which have another attire for the ref. Is it possible to change his attires for each arena and is there a own pac ch file for this classic ref? Because this one does better fit the new Nitro Arena! Or is it only possible with the DLC arenas? Edited June 11, 2015 by TheVisitorX Quote
LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 I'll put the ref stuff on the list to check out, but I haven't seen any where to configure it by arena as of yet. Quote
TheBleedingRed21 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Wtf is the no signal pictur for? LOL As for refs, if there is a different ref in the Classic, there has to be a way to assign them I would assume. Be low priority but we will check it. Quote

Then I would imagine the arena's hex code references a certain referees' id. I just don't know where to begin to look for that in the code. Quote
d12345 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Hey all I just saw that Dusty Rhodes died a few hours ago Another childhood hero gone. Quote
LordJustice17 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Hey all I just saw that Dusty Rhodes died a few hours ago Another childhood hero gone. Yeah, saw that earlier. It's a shame. Hopefully someone creates a mod of him so we can relive his glory days. 1 Quote
Def Dave Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I just read that too. Man. So many of our legends are gone before their time. "He's just a common man, working hard with his hands" Rest in peace, American Dream. Awesome work on these arenas guys. I can't wait to play in the old school WWF and NWA arenas as Dusty Rhodes, Ultimate Warrior, and Randy Savage. 1 Quote
Rob_Mics Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Not to get off topic, but i'll always remember Dusty Rhodes for getting my grandmother kicked out of a house show in columbus ohio when i was a kid, he was beating up my grandmas favorite the million dollar man (because he looked like my grandpa) and we got ringside seats. It was a house show so it didnt have any real meaning to the feud going on. They where on our side outside of the ring and dusty gave him the elbow. my grandma was standing right there and she smacked his shoulder and said you leave him alone. he just looked at her then went back to work, we got escorted out hahah. and back to topic Amazing work guys keep it up Quote
LordJustice17 Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Nothing wrong with that kind of off-topic. Awesome story. Quote
